Bay's TF color changes Edits in bold, because apparently my wording or something was "hot headed". That was not my intention here, and I'd like to stop being bashed by school kids until this thread is deleted. Maybe its just me, but the main thing about the changes to transformers characters in the live action trilogy that slightly bothers me is the color changes. I expect the bots to be way more complex, the movie toys to have next gen realism, and some modernized voices, and they do, but the color of the characters is, to me, possibly most important. So Ironhide and Sideswipe could have been red. Bay acknowledges this fact and states that the reason for the changes was because red does not film well. Then to pull his usual self contradiction, he turns 2 characters that have been blue in almost every continuity, to red! I'm talking about Sentinel Prime and Mirage. I like both Ironhide and Sideswipe in the films, but I don't at all feel like they are the same characters I've always known. Then again, with no voice and being a larger ninja sports car, I don't feel Bumblebee is the same character much either, even with his yellow color. I guess very few besides Optimus feel much like the character they are supposed to be though. Maybe the info I've gathered about DOTM has finally made me decide the live action trilogy is almost as much a pollution of the already overly varied TF universes as decent movies. For me, another director can easily make a more G1 accurate set of movies one day that is just as realistic, yet much better than these movies. I don't think the Bay films will be like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, where it would be a couple of decades at least before a better version could be conceived. Deleted this last part about hoping they would one day make a TF movie that is based more on G1, since it somehow offended the hell out of people.
