I despise them but hey everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Ask this question again in 2 years when the movie hype is again much smaller and you will likely receive a much different answer. Currently there are a LOT of people who have joined in the last 2 months solely because of the movie. Most likely won't stick around for a year.

But again, hey. Like what you like and don't worry what others think.

The movie designs just seem like a lot of visual clutter and a lot of visual noise - like someone made a robot just to see how much detail they could put in it. That's not good design.

But they also kinda make sense - Bay wanted them to actually move their little parts around until they transformed in a realistic way. You can do it in a way that's much less cluttered and needlessly detailed though. Like a nice idea that went way too far.

I think this good ole cracked.com article sums things up pretty neatly...

    Transformers Movies | Cracked.com

Having that said, I once got ROTF Leader Optimus as a birthday present and that is admittedly an awesome toy, it took me (a fairly seasoned TF toy collector), two civil engineers and 40 minutes to transform him to truck mode, hahaha! :D

Also, today I bought Darkside Soundwave, and he looks great overall, I just wish they´d replaced his monster-teeth with a mouthplate...

I´m looking at Dino and Scorn as well...

It will still be smaller than this one though. The hype for AOE was much less than it was for DOTM or ROTF. And the way AOE is getting panned by ctirics more than the other three isn't helping.

They're about every 3 years. Either way, my point was to ask this question when a movie isn't within 2 months or even a year away. It's like going to a car show and asking who likes super cars.

I want to, but I have too many issues with them:

CGI models look good, but the toys don't do them justice.
Transformation in the movies is too complex to see what's actually happening.
Not enough alt mode visible in robot mode.

    And my biggest gripe:

No matter how much damage they take in robot mode, their alt modes ALWAYS look clean and flawless.

Since this is the toy forum, my response is in reference to the toy: I love them! I love the generally realistic alt modes, the satisfying transformations, and the detailed and diverse bot modes. Yeah! :bay

Okay, so my arbitrary number was wrong. My point didn't care about the specific bleeping number. My point was, AGAIN, ask this question when movie hype ISN'T at OMEGA LEVELS!

I like them, though not my favorite aesthetic. I've really enjoyed how Transformers keep coming up with new looks, G1, BW, Animated, Prime, and movie. If it was always one look the brand would get stale.

I have been a Transformers fan since it all started back in 1984 (I was four years old then), and I think Bayformers are the best Transformers design BY FAR. In my opinion, these movies took a good concept and made them 1,000 times better. I love the movieverse aesthetic.

You have a very rigid one or the other poll. You're just not going to get a lot of votes when forcing people to pick like that.

For instance, I neither like nor hate them. I've bought from the first two movie lines, but skipped the last two. So I can't pick that I like them, but can't pick that I hate them.

Yes. Though we did get some misses, we also got real gems from the Movieversr TFs, both in the silver screen and the toyline.
