Some of his posts about the movie stuff contradict what he just said here (and most of his collection is movie stuff, take a look), so I'm not sure what his deal is. Maybe he's trolling or misread the question somehow.

You're a contradictory person. Here's a posting of yours from another thread:

Btw I'm glad Bayformers are leading, the silent majority have shown their true colors by voting. :bay

Hell no. Even Superman Blue and Red and the DMC reboot version of Dante had better character designs, these are the worst character designs I've ever seen since Beast Machines. Most of them of wastes of plastic in my eyes and the films are some of the worst movies to ever grace this millennium and that is not hyperbole.

The occasional design is interesting to me, or sometimes I just like the head on one of them, but generally I have a dislike for them. I did like the revamp for Optimus and Bumblebee in the new movie. Very sleek looking.

I have had like 2 movie toys in the past and disliked them. I did pick up Voyager Hound this time around. Mostly because he came with a full arsenal.

I like the majority of them...there's a certain level of beauty in their ugliness! LOL! My fave has to be the ROTF Leader Class Optimus toy...he's so, so beautiful in a good way! :)

As far as toys absolutely. I buy far more of them than I need. Their affordable and being pushed by the retailers anyway, why not take in at least the engineering puzzle of it at least. Even if its just to see how they changed up bumblebees core transformation each round.

They eventually get maligned to the back of my shelves. Though I do have a shelf or two of cool ones. Mostly the offscreen characters that had such classic designs they could work in most any universe.

Really like the core five Autobot team in the Age of Extinction as characters though. What a lovable bunch of psychopaths they are.

    Glory to AOE!

    No

Its about Robot from another planet transforming into vehicle so I'm not expecting anything so realistic. I'dl stick with the cartoon/animation series.

I've been steadily moving away from them, but yes I do like Movieverse. Heavily mechanical, "alien" robot modes + realistic Earth modes is my ideal aesthetic for Transformers.
They also kinda remind me of Beast Wars figure, in terms of weird bot modes I mean.

The more I see of Bayformers, the more my love for the Unicron Trilogy grows.

I like them, and as long as the characters are alright enough for me to like I'll buy the toys, or at least a nice version of their robot mode if it's available.

I wish I had an accurate toy of model kit of Grimlock from AoE. He looks fantastic. The toys that are out fail to accurately capture his dimensions and details, and get his head totally wrong.

Anyway. I love the new designs. Took awhile to grow on me, but after 4 films I have really come to like them. And in the aftermath of the original films release, I strongly believe the "alien" look they were aiming for was the better choice the films versus a more G1 look. I think alot of the success with audiences worldwide is due to the looks of the characters on screen. Heroes look awesome, and villains look menacing.

g1 is what it is. and the movieverse is what it is.

don't know why people feel the need to keep comparing. we have been having the same characters names thru the years in a bunch of different styles and "universes" (g1, rid, armada....prime) and there is room for all!

movie prime is not g1 prime, nor should he be. he is his own character with some of the "original" values and strengths but on a new era.

    my 2 cents.

I more or less liked them till the 4th movie. I didn't particularly like any of the TFs in TF4. Cons were entirely generic as were the Dinobots and the Autobots were lame as F. And Lockdown isn't exactly worthy of main antagonist status.

Que was mostly lame because of his stupid ass head, but now all of them have stupid ass heads. Even Prime's head looked stupid and cat-like most of the time. Pretty sad when Bumblebee is the coolest TF in the whole movie...and probably looked the best.
