    B... B... But I liked the old title! :(

Starscream in the shuttle says, "do I hear a second on that?"

    Me: "Aye!"

You know, MPL even asked me if I was sure I wanted to change the title and I told her yes.

But now the more I think about it, I believe she was right. I'll have her change this one back to the old title and I'll create a new thread when we begin.

    :)

    Yes please and thank you.

This original thread should be framed and saved in some archive.

I'm sure your Beast Wars thread will equally be as successful.

I'll do my best to be there for every ep you review as well.

Alright, final adjustments have been made to the thread. A title change has been sent to MPL. The new thread will simply be titled, Bayformer Fan Watches Beast Wars [BLOG].

I've actually never watched more than a handful of episodes from either "Beast Wars" or "Beast Machines," so I'm really looking forward to picking up the DVDs on the cheap and following along with the new blog!

Any suggestions about which collection is best?

I've heard the SHOUT! collection is best. Something about the encoding being more true to the source. Plus you don't have to put up with seeing Rhino's mascot.

I clicked this thread thinking it was PPP's thread...

    This is confusing.

One thing I've always wanted to know is if the Shout sets still have the Animated menus that's Rhino's has? I know their Beast Machines set doesn't. I've been thinking about retiring my Rhino sets and picking up and using the Shout sets instead.

Well I've finally caught up! I was plowing through my re-watch of the entire series until mid-way through S3 and then got caught up doing some other things. I read the comments here after every viewing, and during the watch I kept finding myself thinking "What is Slayer going to say about this?!". Tons of fun. Even as an original G1 viewer/fan, I agree that the Quintessons were a terrible idea. They were fine in the movie, but I hated them being the creators, and I hated them sticking around nearly every episode in S3! I also have mixed feelings about Rebirth...from what I remember of the comic version, I liked it much better than this. But Spike becoming an Autobot finally and inducing the new Golden Age was a great great great ending I thought. I love the callback (although not actually referenced) all the way to season 1 episode 4 or 5, Autobot Spike. I forgot it ended this way, but it was great.

I'm going to start Headmasters (subtitled) tonight or tomorrow as I can't wait for Slayer to get through BW and BM before starting it, plus I have a feeling he won't actually make it that far! I'm considering blogging it, but we'll see. I may jot some thoughts down and see if it seems interesting enough to post! I've never seen any of the Japanese continuity.

Thanks for the great ride Slayer!

Oh I did, but I had no doubt the awesomeness of G1 would keep you hooked! I haven't actually seen any of the rest myself so I can't really say how it might go, but I will be surprised and happy if you make it through everything! You might as well keep going after BW/BM and the Japanese series, and continue with Prime, Armada, and all those other crappy knockoffs. ;)

I have both Shout Factory Beast Era Complete series DVD box sets. I viewed both of them all the way through to the end. I truly enjoyed viewing the content of both box sets and I strongly recommend picking them up from wherever you can find them.

Well I went and did it, and started a Headmasters blog. Obviously you'll want to steer clear for awhile Slayer. :)  I'm in the G1 groove right now though so can't move on to BW just yet!

So I just saw your review for TFTM, and it was the most fun I've had reading about the movie in YEARS. The movie has been dissected second by second and everyone's got a deep analysis for it and whatever, but your blog of it was some seriously fun shit. Reminds me why I like it. Despite all the many flaws, it hits you with pumpin' music, kickass action, great characters, lots of fun, and some emotional whiplash all over the place. It's a popcorn movie through and through.
