TheWrap is reporting that Michael Bay is in talks to direct a Lobo film for DC Films.

Bay has already met with DC on the project and will move forward with negotiations to helm the film based on notes given to executives to that are to be factored into a rewrite. Wonder Woman screenwriter Jason Fuchs has written the latest draft of the script, which Warner Bros. has been developing for many years.

“San Andreas” director Brad Peyton was previously attached to direct “Lobo,” with Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman producing.

Warners has been developing “Lobo” since 2009, when the studio hired Guy Ritchie to direct from a screenplay by the late Don Payne. That project would have featured Lobo landing on Earth in search of four fugitives.

Sounds AWESOME! I'm always down for more Bayhem, Transformers or otherwise.

Crap, I'd love it if Lobo and Lockdown encountered each other.

    Get shrekt!

Now, after TF5, it sounds understandable. MB is incredibly creative director. He has been working on TFs so long, because he was an architector of the Movie, he directly participated in script writing, created a team, he loved to work with (even the set crew was the same during all the years) and as a result made Transformers Movies extremelly fresh, especially on AOE! But now, after Hasbro and Paramount took off all the creativity and made MB to work on strictly straight rails and with all this cinematic universe frames and silly childish cartoony ideas... I would really leave, being in his place. The studios act just thanklessly - they spit in the well - they restricted the director, who selflessly spent 10 years of his life on franchise and made it extremelly famous. I'm only not happy, because DC is superhero franchise and I hate even the smell of superheroes. Michael Bay, leaving TFs even as producer would mean soon stop of the Movie franchise, because no one can film TFs better, than he. His name became a synonim of Transformers... General audience understands it. And, as I already said, it is better to have not movies, than have crappy movies.

Or maybe Bay himself would like to move on to things different than TFs? Very few people working in any kind of creative field would like to be stuck with doing always the same.

I think that Bay can pull the Lobo movie just fine.

The DC fandom is going crazy after hearing the news. The backlash against Bay when he directed the first TF movie will pale in comparison to the reception he will receive from the rabid DC fans.

Whatever he puts out can't be much worse than what DC's currently putting out.

Talks but no deal yet so I wouldn't be looking to buy tickets to Lobo just yet.

Plus we have heard so many times that Bay was ready to step away from Transformers only to be back. It's like he wants to work on his other projects but he just can't seem to find the willpower to say yep done with it not doing it again. He's also still a producer and producers can put their finger prints all over a movie.

Logo would be more of his style.
Isn't he also in talks of directing doing Dora the explorer?

It'd actually be pretty amusing seeing DC fans having to support and defend Michael Bay :lol

At least when the movie gets a bad Rotten Tomatoes score the fanboys already have their theory that Marvel/Disney is running handing bags full of money to film critics to give the DC movies bad reviews.

DC and Marvel fanboys are more reactionary than Transformers fans. They will do anything to get Bay off their properties. I read DC fans tried to sabotage Black Panther's audience score in Rotten Tomatoes.

DC everything is just... too much.

Don't need to mention the competition either.

    That is just so childish.

That’s technically a good thing for us if Aquaman get’s sabotaged. The Bumblebee Film would win the competition then surely?

Honestly, every time I see someone say this on social media, I just want to bang my head against the wall. Kind of amazing that DC fanboys have to literally come up with some stupid explanation as to why the DC films almost always get panned. They can’t just admit that maybe DC just doesn’t know what it’s doing.

I hope with Bay gone the fact that every single character being an overly macho sociopath goes with him. I would like robots and humans alike to have more emotions than "horny and angry".

Ratings won't do much. Bumblebee could win if only:
    1. It has good marketing (cool teasers, trailers, etc etc)
    2. The plot is actually good (better than Aquaman)
