Michael Bay is claiming that McG is "ripping off Transformers." Take That McG - Michael Bay Takes a Shot at Terminator! FirstShowing.net Isn't the whole cute blonde is a killer robot thing ripping off T3?
Bay sucks ass! He had IMO only two good movies : "Armageddon" and "The Rock" Everything else he did is pure crap! McG is way better then Bay. This is my two cents on the subject. EDIT: Not every big CGI robot with a canon is a rip off from Bayformers...
well...i guessi kinda side with Bay since Transformers shown to be such a huge success in the box office lots of studios want a piece of that pie so put in a giant robot in terminator green light voltron etc etc TFs showed that people like giant robots so studios wanna bring[or feel safe in bringing] their own giant robots makes sense to me tho IMO, Transformers FTW
Giant robots have been a part of Terminator canon since part 1. I'd say fans would have been dissapointed if a giant HK terminator didn't appear in a movie set in the PA future.
Or the bit when John Connor has to awkwardly hide the giant terminators around his base in an overly long scene.
Bay shoudln't worry. I don't "side" with either of them. personally, TFs will always be cooler than anything Terminator. That scene was actually fun, but I guess that word is lost on most people on these boards.
If by fun you mean embarrassing, stupid, and awful. But that can be used to describe about 90% of that movie. I'll chime in here with another Bay sucks and makes awful movies. I dont plan on seeing either upcoming movie by both if these guys, but if I had to make a choice then I would definitely rather watch the Terminator flick.
No, fun was the introduction of the Autobots or seeing Optimus kill Bonecrusher. That scene was just mind numbing painful to watch.
It was fun for a bit. Then it went on and on and on and I started thinking 'What the hell? They blew SFX budget on this?'
I for one like Bay's rendition of Transformers, and I like the Terminator series, too. In fact, other than the fact both series have killer robots in them, they are almost uncomparable. Example: Terminator: Giant AI that takes over the world and builds look-alikes of the Governator to exterminate the human race in the future and the past. May use giant robots to destroy stuff, but said giant robots do not transform. All the robots are by default evil except the ones reprogramed by the resistance. Transformers:The robots are aliens and are both good and evil. They can transform into various things of varying awesomeness, are based off a toyline first and foremost, and is more about robot vs. robot smackdowns than robots destroying the human race. And a multiverse to draw upon for things like names and styles of characters. Movies having giant robots isn't new. Heck, that crappy looking remake of TDTESS had Gorts the size of the Empire state building, and what about Gundams? Voltron? The Hulkbuster?
I got that part...guess I didn't why it was funny cause Con Air isn't very good either. You'd think it was done by Bay matter of fact.
