Basically the same thing we heard from unidentified sources, but we've at least got an identified source stating it now.

I'm glad to hear that Bay's enjoying making this movie. But his post had an uncharacteristic guardedness about it--usually Bay is so frank about his views, so I completely expected him to say something a little more negative about Shia's drinking and driving. Oh well.

Why is every news story instantly greeted with "OMFG MORE TRANSFORMERS! LESS HUMANS!" no matter what it is about?

Less Shia = less box office and less successful movie. People actually like him as an actor and like to see him in movies.

Whether he was at fault or not, Shia was legally intoxicated and I hope he learned his lesson. We were all young once or we are young now.
But I would think that a movie star would have enough money to hire a car to drive him around if he's been drinking.

I like to hear Michael Bay's excitement for the movie.
I've listened to his commentary on the DVD and I think he is totally sincere when he says he loves Transformers.

Well that at least means the release date is still on, which sort of falls toward the middle of the summer releases. If it's good it should keep the good summer film train a rolling and if character was just part of the disinformation there would still be plenty of summer left to find something more to my liking.

Ha ha, and am the only one that finds it funny Bay worked in the word "blast". He's sounding more and more like his South Park bit all the time.

Nice to hear everything is still on track. And I hope Shia learn a lesson from all this.

It's love to hear that Michael Bay is enjoying making this film, when you love something, you put more effort in doing it, an you transfer that to your co-workers.

They do? Can you name me something he's been in that wouldn't have been a hit without him? Without checking up on his career, the only films I know he's been in are TF and Indiana Jones. I didn't see anyone queuing round the block at those films to see some bloke they'd never heard of.

Yes, most movies he has been in were large successes. Holes and Disturbia were both very successful and based solely around his performance as the lead. Constantine wasn't bad either. Eagle Eye looks to be pretty good too. His TV show on Disney was also highly rated.

People do like him as an actor and movies he stars in are successful because people like him. Not sure how you can deny this. If he wasn't a successful actor then he wouldn't be making 2-3 movies per summer.
