I think he hauls ass..no pun intended... Cool, unique design that kinda separates him from the others.
In my eyes. There is nothing wrong with Jetfire. ...other than the fact that I would've gotten Christopher Lee to voice him, but other than that...
I like his design. It combines the movie element and character, something which I think the first movie was desperately lacking. That said, I look foward to getting the fab Jetfire.
Would the design be my first choice? No. IS it my choice? No While I had some initial issues with the design I really think that he could turn out to be something quite spectacular. Time will tell.
You guys joke. But I've heard reports of Michael Bay coming to people's homes and demanding, under threat of law, that they hand over all images and videos of Transformers, and he is then replacing them digitally (ala George Lucas) with the movie designs. That's right. And, he then pulls out a small device and actually ERASES your memories of past characters, and replaces them with the movie designs. He is literally (not figuratively) ruining your childhood memories! and it's all legal! The only way to defend against his intrusions is a hat made of tinfoil, which I am selling for $19.95. Ehhh I don't think Christopher Lee's voice suits the character (from what we know of him) that much. Lee sounds a little too noble, commanding, and sinister....this Jetfire is much more suited by the grumpy old man voice. He needs a bit of raspiness.
Jetfire's grumpy old man character in the movie is actually quite amusing. I had an idea where he uses his can like a weapon (it transforms), and he attacks with it. I think he will beat Scorponok out of the air with it when Scorponok jumps at him.
I have a great idea for the scene: Scorps jumps out of the sand at him in slow-motion. Jetfire smacks him down with his cane in real time, either knocking him out or killing him. He looks at Scorps, then the Autobots, then back, then says "What in the hell was that?"
I'm interested in seeing how he will be for the movie. I can't wait to hear how John Turturro(Agent Simmons) voices him.
Plus they're not a fighter jet, so they can't maneuver worth shit and wouldn't last more than two seconds in a dogfight against... anything. I won't be surprised if Jetfire takes flight, but I have a feeling it will be his one & only time before dying. Knowing Bay and these writers, it'll probably be some sort of self sacrifice for the greater good setup.

yeah, kinda how we saw Starscream reach at the F-22's with his claws in the '07 film. A mid-sky battle where Jetfire turns into his jet mode to gain speed and distance, then transforms to his bot mode to "fight" would be sweet.
As a hardcore G1 fan I must say....................THIS IS NOT A G1 MOVIE DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!! I personally think Jetfire looks awesome.
You FOOL! that he has a cane and beard is the same as alpha trion having a frikken MO, and that hot rod goes fishing with daniel, how the decepticons like to dance at nightclubs, and how starscream cries tears when megatron pimp hands him. That he has a cane and beard is the greatest tribute to what was essentially a fun show. Big robots, turning into cars an planes and tape deck and gun? Logic and plausablility has no placings here. Having said that it does help when there are SOME reasons provided, which is what made TF1 so -1
I just don't like his face, but his alt form and body design is pretty cool. Plus I like the color black.
