I like them both equally, maybe I'll give movie-verse Optimus the edge because he had some epic lines ["Time to find out" anyone?], but that's it.

It doesn't help they're so different, Movie-Optimus is more brutal and Genre Savvy [Tvtropes] than Prime-Optimus, who is far more idealistic.

Design-wise: I like them both equally. They're both one of the best designed characters for their respective aesthetics (in my opinion). They're both undeniably Optimus Prime in design, but have enough differences to separate them. I love Bayformers Optimus' knee pads, new set of abs and alien toes/feet. And I love TFP Optimus' shoulder designs and chest area. And I just dig the extended cab truck alt modes that they both share. I often wonder what a live-action TFP Optimus would look like in a movie...that'd be sweet.

Personality-wise: I like them both equally again. From what we've seen in TFP, Bayformers has him beat in terms of emotional range (mostly due to DotM). TFP Optimus hasn't had much opportunity to showcase very much range, but that's moreso the fault of the material that Cullen is given. But with that single line as Orion Pax in the trailer, Cullen is capable of giving TFP Optimus great range. Sure Bayformers Optimus is a little too violent sometimes for my tastes, but TFP Optimus (with the exception of the final confrontation with Megatron) isn't willing to do what's necessary. TFP Optimus just recently came to the same conclusion ("Autobots and Decepticons will never live in peace. If there is no diplomatic solution to this perpetual conflict, I cannot allow more darkness to fall upon this...or any planet. Megatron must be destroyed!") that Bayformers Optimus came to, but Bayformers Optimus came to it earlier. Both are driven by the insatiable urge to protect Earth and humanity, but Bayformers Optimus, as I said above, is just not as hesitant to get business done as TFP Optimus.

Long story short, I like them both equally on pretty much every playing field.

If it's a fight, then movie Optimus would win because he is murder weapon that can talk.

If it's a popularity contest then Prime Optimus wins for being an actual character instead of violence porn monster.

    I love em both!

Movie Prime had his deep quotes: 'fate rarely calls upon us in a moment of our choosing', his noble causes: 'if i cannot defeat megatron, place the allspark in my chest...', comic relief (his impatience in that scene in Sam's backyard is so funny and HE WAS BADASS..those 15 seconds in DotM where he cuts through that street of Decepticons..damn!

Prime's Prime is epic in just the opposite ways...although he has demonstrated his skillful power (Darkness Rising), he is more of a calm, peaceful Prime that, even when Megatron died in the spacebridge, wished that he hadn't, so he could have changed his mind. But when there is no more options, he brings harm to the cons (ripping off Knockout's door to save Vince/'Megatron must be destroyed!')

Design wise, both are great and since they're voiced by Cullen, can't complain much! WIN WIN!

G1: A great friend to humans and Autobots and a formidible fighter.

RiD: Again like G1 but is quite noble in a small way.

A/E/C: Like G1 and RiD but is more "Super hero-y"

Movie: A war torn hero that even though he dosen't want to he will do anything possible to win the war.

Animated: A go getter, A dreamer and the greatest Optimus [Prime]. (Yet)

WFC/E/Prime: Keeps cool under pressure, Has much respect for his elders.

I know it's only Prime-Movie but I just wanted to share my views on the different Optimus Prime's

Movie Prime is more grizzled. The War has had its impact on him in that hes tired of allowing the decepticons to harm innocent lives. He realized a while ago that there cannot be peace with the decepticons and as such he'll sacrifice the cons and his race to protect humanity and his moral ideals.

Prime Optimus however is still hesitant to give up on the cons (Well. Was). He doesn't want to have to kill but he will to protect humans. Only when Raf was injured did he finally reach Movie Optimus' conclusion that there can't be peace with the decepticons.

I think I actually prefer movie Prime in that he's a unique characterization of OP who murders everyone. Prime Optimus Prime is just...typical heroic stoic guy with barely any personality until the last four episodes of season 1.

Bay Optimus until Prime Optimus changes my mind. He seems more alive in his voice and the way he moves. (however the latter does have millions worth of CGI behid it, but they can get the other robots to move realistically in Prime sometimes) Prime Prime is very boring overall. His voice is very bland, especially compared to movie Optimus. His design is awesome, but his movement seems jerky and unrealistic. Also his hands are weird. They're both great fighters, but I like Movie Optimus' more efficient, fast-paced combat.

It's a choice between an Optimus with the personality of a lawn chair and an Optimus with the personality of Chuck Norris's Chainsaw.

But Lawnchair Oppy's got some shit going on, and his Voyager toy is nice.
