It's a good day to not own a 3D TV. Yup.

Pretty sure there will never be a good day to own one. At least for me.

I must have a good one. Colors are perfect on my 3D TV and look just as good as the regular blu-ray.

Not true. More and more TVs are being made with 3D as just a standard now. It will become the norm within the next couple of years. Like HD televisions. At first, they were a specialty, then gradually every new television was HD Ready as the standard. Same thing will happen with 3D. A lot of people won’t purposely be wanting to buy 3D televisions, but their new sets will be capable of playing 3D anyway.

He told me 3D is fucked.

:lol  I am now starting to appreciate my very basic DVD copy :D

And I love how he said it's fucked, nothing subtle :lol

This always happens with new media technology. Early DVD players were inconsistent about handling layer changes. Early HD TVs didn't handle changes in aspect ratio well at all. HDMI still has issues. It all beats being stuck on standard definition though.

Everyone over to Bay's house to watch your 3D copies on a working set-up!

I hear there's punch and pie.

Ah well, I guess it's the perfect excuse to release it again once 3D is properly standardised. If I was a cynic...

Keep telling yourself that. They've been pushing 3D hard the past few years, but it just isn't catching on the way HDTV did.

And part of the reason is that I've never heard of anyone who can look at a movie in SD side-by-side with HD and not prefer the HD. HD looks unarguably better. But I know a TON of people who will actively choose to watch movies that get simultaneous 2D and 3D theatrical releases in 2D because they fucking hate 3D.

Whether it's because they can't stand wearing the glasses, or because 3D invariably darkens the image, or because they get a headache from extended 3D viewing, or because current stereoscopic technology doesn't really look true 3D yet anyway, there are plenty of people who wouldn't want 3D even if you gave it to them for free.

I really wish that they had just released a Blu-Ray copy with all the features but without having to buy a 3D Disc that I'll never use. While I saw the movie in 3D and enjoyed it, I'm not exactly buying it on Blu-Ray for that either.

Speak for yourself: TF3D looks freaking gorgeous on my 3D TV.

And the 3D is freaking glorious in its own right.

I used to do support for two different TV/Internet providers, and believe me, there are lots of people who hate HD. I never heard the fucking end of it.

As a person who sells TV's part time, I STILL hear bellyaching from people who have no interest in an HDTV, or the FCC shutting off the analog signal which forces hem to either buy a stupid converter box for $50 or an HDTV.
