I have way too much on my to do list & promised myself i wasn't going to start any new projects till i cleared some of my backlog of customs but this was way to tempting. This was ridiculously easy to do using PCC Smoulder & a Bruticus Maximus Copter,i just took off the head & chest from PCC Smoulder & then filed a groove to allow the helicopter part to slide in all the way & we have a perfect fit! To bulk up the copter a little I cut the small wings off the copter bots arms,added them to the front,removed the feet & fitted them straight onto the existing pegs. Not totally sure about the weapon (from a PCC Combaticon Drone) at the moment but it just clips straight on.
That is AWESOME. Smolder makes a perfect bottom half to a new Battletrap. The PCC Combaticon gun also works great, since it looks very close to the original Battletrap's gun. It even looks like Smolder might be able to hold it with the arms by using the mini-con peg as a handle. The only thing that would nail the gun being the perfect weapon is if it could fit on both vehicles, although that can be left up to interpetation since the original Battletrap kept over 50% of the truck mode intact in robot mode anyway.
That is great - the helicopter even looks a lot better without having to find a place for the arms and legs, and it really comes together to make a great looking robot mode
Dang you beat me to it lol. Oh well I have too much going on as is. That rotating joint for the combiner on the copter is a perfect place for the head too. Only thing differant on mine was I was trying to keep the copter arms to have a more realistic BT. Awesome to see this though. Great minds.......................
I was actually fiddling with a headless Smolder and PCC Searchlight and trying to make them Battle Trap. This one definatly worked out better. It'll look awesome when it's finished.
Also, if you can fit Cybertron Thundercracker's head into the spot currently occupied by the combiner port, that seems like a decent match. (wait, this guy is pretty much still a basic, so never mind, I guess?) ETA: Can you show us the groove you carved? Thanks!
Excellent idea, looking forward to seeing it finished! Bombshock + an Energon Aerialbot for Flywheels next maybe...?
I've been looking for a car to go as the base using the same helicopter (discarded in favour of FP not-Swindle!), stolen I believe is the correct term
Cheers guys Made some more progress this week & fitted the gun to the alt modes,added some missile's to the front of the copter & had a change of heart about the placement of the copter bots old feet so i cut 'em in half & used them to bulk out the tail instead. To quote Jetfire "ask & you shall recive" cheers dude great suggestion Size wise he's like a stocky DLX. The combiner port is set back a little to far but the suggestion of using Cybertron TC is a great one i had been thinking of using Cannonball's noggin it has a pretty good resemblence to the MTMTE entry but i like the Geewun style of the TC head,thanks!
