So, I'm sitting at work today and I put in the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack to pass the time...

...and dammit, I want to hear that chilling intro music WITH video again! And I want it to be new episodes!

October can't get here fast enough. The cliffhanger in January was so awesome and the thought that we're getting even more BSG - in the form of Caprica - is just hot.

    C'mon October!

Yeah, I liked the old skool BSG music. However, I was actually referring to the new theme - there's this 30-second intro segment they play with all the new Battlestar Galactica episodes with title text along the lines of "The Cylons were created by man. They evolved. They rebelled. And they have a plan."

Every time I see that at the beginning of one of the new BSG episodes, it just gets my psyched. Kinda like listening for Patrick Stewart's "Space...the Final Frontier."

I'm just getting into this show now. It's hard not to sit and watch 4 hours of it at a crack. I want to space it out until the new ones air.

that finale was so freaking shocking ~ has any other show ACTUALLY pulled off a status quo change that big without 'retconning' it?

The bright side is less reruns and the end of the huge gap in the middle of the season. It's still a hard wait though.

I guess some spoiler warning here.

I think the core cast will stay seperated for a while but I imagine by the middle of the season they'll be back on track.

    I guess I really didn't spoil much.

Anyways, I've been filling the void with Deadwood.

They showed the 'pilot movie' and first (or is that second?) season here as well, but it stopped a few months after for the big 'summer break' (which is now 7 months worth here :rolleyes) and new episodes probably won't be aired until November.:(  I want to know how the events on Caprica end, damnit!

Oh well, at least something called Invasion starts tomorrow. At least the premise of that sounds interesting.

Maybe Doctor Who, every time they switch to a new Doctor? I can think of several anime shows that pull a gigantic change at or near the end of their first season, but I'd rather not drop random spoilers into the thread.

I assume BSG gets better in the second series then?

The first series has just started on non-pay TV here and its bored me to tears after 4 episodes, regurdless of the fact that Edward James Olmos is in it.

Don't bother with Invasion, buy a tin of paint and watch it dry instead.

I liked Invasion. It was starting to get good at the end. To bad it was cancelled and ended on a cliffhanger. :(

If you didn't like the first series, I doubt you'd like the second. Things change, but in many ways it's also more of the same.

As for Invasion, the biggest problem is that the audience (thanks to the title and 3 Body Snatchers films) are leaps and bounds ahead of the characters. Thus we watch them slowly solving a mystery we already know the answer to, and that IS as boring as hell.

However, I did like the characters, and once they caught up with the audience, asking less "what" and more "why", the story picked up pace and the mystery became more engaging. However, that took too damn long, and I don't blame audiences for tuning out.

I love the new show. We're going to actually get expanded cable, just to get the Sci-Fi channel. I had heard that Season 3 wasn't going to come until January.

Is it October of '06 or January of '07?

I believe it will run straight through except for the usual December tv break. Gonna be awsome. Mark my word Baltar's uppance will come when he least expects it.
