    Here is something nice:
The opening song of the famous Anime series "Star-Blazers", done by the original singer. Taken at a live concert of some sort:

Awesome! That guy sang so many anime songs back in the day.
The ending theme of Yamato was very embarrasing, though. My mum used to sing along and made it worse for me :lol

For some reason, it always gets spelled "Leiji" even though that's highly irregular for a Japanese Romanization.

Is there any particular reason why the original Yamato hasen't put in an appearence on DVD in english lands, or are the licencees just being gits?

No that pretty much sums it up. The movies and the TV shows are all licensed to the same company, and they release the movies uncut as Yamato and the TV epsiodes only as Star Blazers. I'm not sure anyone knows why.

I loved the Star Blazers version as a kid, but in this day and age I'm just not going to pay money for chopped up dub-only anime. Fansubs FTW.

My brother has every one of the Star Blazers dvds, and I'm pretty sure you can watch them in Japanese with no scenes cut. Actually, I believe you can watch the dub with the extra scenes too, but if there's any dialog it's in Japanese with subtitles. I'll ask him about it as soon as I get the chance.

    Edit: SWEET JESUS! Freakin epic!

    Edit 2: Awwwwwwww, that's cute.

Y'know what I would like to see?
I'd like to see John Williams & his orchestra amping up the opening music of "Battle of the planets".
The known syndicated opening is here:

So I was wrong either way? "Leiji" is strange but it's closer to how his name sounds, I guess.

Gryph, thank you for the links. They were great.
