Alright, never done a fanfic-only my Headformers! comic, so I'm gona give it a shot-why not, right? So here it is-I believe the universal stream thingy is like Primax 210.19 Iota, right? Cause its G1-esque, though I did make up some characters, and other characters werent included (like Bumblebee). Now I'm sure I'll butcher personalities and screw up any other things that people love, but hey, it's my thing. So... ya. Oh, and mad props to POZ-Starscream for helping with the naming of characters and coming up with alt modes. Hope you all enjoy!

    Prologue-The Tale of Poseidon

It’s the year 2674. Earth is but a distant memory. The third planet from the sun no longer has any land masses; it is a large ball of water. Or so it seems. Three hundred years before, an asteroid crashed into the planet. The effect was devastating, as it destroyed the basic structural integrity of the planet. It began to collapse, entire continents disappearing under the surface of the water. From the crash site, an enormous volcano formed; one whose toxic emissions would spell out doom and destruction for all those who needed the Earth’s atmosphere to survive. It was polluting the air with massive amounts of thick smog and ash. It was not long before every continent on the planet, including the volcano, sank underneath the ocean, and nearly all things on the surface were destroyed.

However, this event, from the initial impact of the meteor in the Pacific Ocean to the top of Mount Everest, took nearly a decade. In the limited amount of time there was, the humans who called the planet their home took special measures. They built enormous domed cities in hopes of preserving their race. All the animals were herded into a special tank built underneath where the continent previously known as Antarctica once was. Each continent made their own Utopias, all built to fit all those who chose to enter. Most were anchored down to the ground and built to be completely submerged, surviving the sinking of the continents. There were two that were built differently. One city was a prison, designed to contain all criminals who had received life sentences, as they were not left to die horrible deaths. The other was created on the eastern coast of the United States. There was one in California, where most people went, but the domed city off the eastern coast was made to govern them all. The planet’s political leaders, their families, and those who could afford the accommodations all lived here. This particular city was designed to be able to travel through the oceans, to visit all other parts of their civilization, to help govern them all. However, things did not go as planned.

The flooding of the planet was accidentally sped up by a violent earthquake and eruption; the very eruption that destroyed the planet’s atmosphere. The quake disabled the floating city’s navigational abilities, and it sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, landing in the center of a meeting of currents created by the shifting plates of the planet. Since then, the city has not heard from any of the others, and those living in it appear to be the last of their species, believing the others to have been destroyed in the quake. No longer feeling as if “Earth” was a proper name for the planet, the members of the city known as New Atlantis decided to change the name to Poseidon, after the Greek god of the ocean. Now, nearly three hundred years later, a new tragedy strikes the planet; the battle of the Transformers.

I am Optimus Prime, and I regret to say this planet has become our new battleground.

alright here's the start of the series-hope you all enjoy.

    Chapter 1

Deep in outer space, trouble was brewing; trouble in the form of war. For millennia, two factions of robots had been at war over control of their home planet. However, over the centuries, both sides came to a realization; the realization that their planet was dying. Both sides, in their quest for victory, had sapped their home planet of energy. Realizing that they could no longer keep their battle on Cybertron, they decided to leave the planet and find other energy sources to create Energon, to prevent further destruction. They took the war to space, leaving the planet in the hands of teams designed to rebuild the planet, and came to the decision that the winner of the war would win Cybertron. Both sides, the Autobots and Decepticons, had been scouring the universe for enough Energon to defeat their opponents, but so far neither faction had been able to find a substantial amount of energy. Until now.

    "Lord Megatron!”

    “Yes, Shockwave? What is it?”

“I believe we have found what we are looking for!”

This was enough to grab the attention of the Decepticon leader, who had been trying to devise a plan to destroy the Autobots once and for all. Megatron rose from his throne in the bridge of the Nemesis and stood behind Shockwave.

“Do you mean to tell me you have found a limitless supply of energy to create Energon? You know I do not tolerate failure,” Megatron threatened. He found that fear was a rather useful tool in commanding his generals, though he knew Shockwave wouldn’t have said anything unless he was on to something.

“Not exactly my liege, but I do believe I have found us the next best thing.” The one-eyed robot displayed his findings to Megatron. “There is a small blue planet in this solar system, third one from the sun. It is completely covered in water; however my readings show that there are powerful currents just under the surface. If we could harness the energy from those currents…”

Megaton’s cold, metal lips curved into a wicked grin. He read how powerful those currents were, and knew what Shockwave was getting at. “Then we would have enough Energon to power up our army, and finally win this war.” Shockwave nodded in agreement. “Precisely.” Megatron turned to the pilot of the Nemesis, Fracture. “You heard Shockwave, now, full speed ahead.” Megatron said as he went to a door in the back of the room. “Take us to that aquatic planet, Fracture. I must go inform my generals of the good news.” And with those words, he left the bridge; almost relaxed-soon total control of Cybertron would be his.

“Uh, Optimus? We got ourselves a problem…” The voice on the speakers came from the Autobot’s weapons specialist, Ironhide. The Autobots had been trailing the Nemesis for quite some time and, much to his dismay, it was Ironhide’s turn to watch the monitors. Luckily for him, however, it seemed that he wouldn’t need to be there for long. Behind him, a pair of doors slid open, revealing a large room where the Autobot high council was having a meeting. Sentinel Prime and Rodimus Prime had all managed to arrive on the Ark without a problem, as had Ultra Magnus, whose role was to help with the delegations. Those who had been unable to make it, Alpha Trion and Dai Atlas, were present in holographic form. Optimus Prime, the captain of the Ark, walked through the doors.

“What is it, Ironhide?” the Autobot commander asked his old friend as he approached the monitors. He knew it was bad news, as the old war-bot didn’t often give false alarms.

“Well Prahm, it seems the Decepticons are on the move. They’ve gone an’ changed course an’ are now heading towards the third planet from the sun.” Optimus frowned, concerned. “Teletraan 1, scan that planet.” The Ark suddenly shot a small satellite out of the ship towards the blue planet at a speed close to the speed of light; unfortunately the Autobot who had perfected the speed of the satellite was injured in battle and had been sent back to Cybertron to be kept safe, otherwise their weapons would have been upgraded as well.

Moments later, the satellite, which had already achieved orbit around the planet, sent back the results of the scan. “Hmm, it seems there are powerful underwater currents on that planet,” Optimus said to himself as his processor mulled over the information. “Megatron must be planning to harvest the power of the currents. Also, the scan reveals there is absolutely no life on the planet.” He sighed, and Ironhide grinned a little. “Does this mean what I think it means, Prahm?” he asked excitedly. Optimus Prime sighed again “Well, I need to discus this with the other members of the council, but I’m afraid we need to prepare ourselves. Ironhide, power up the lasers, and prepare… prepare to destroy that lifeless planet… for the safety of the universe.” Optimus Prime shook his head as he went back to the council room. He did not want to destroy the planet, but he knew that he would most likely be outvoted, and kept telling himself that the loss of the planet would mean nothing other than a temporary victory. Despite that, Optimus still had a doubt in his mind; that there was more to this planet than meets the eye.

Clearly a slightly different world from G1. more of a council to run things, unlike the Decepticons, who have like a dictator. 2 points to anyone who guesses who the scientist that made the satellite was

ok, here we go, a bit more interaction-this is all Decepticons.

    Chapter 2

Within the Nemesis, the generals of the Decepticon army were growing restless. They had been on board the Nemesis for quite some time now, and hadn’t had much in the ways of Energon or exercise, as the war seemed to have reached a stalemate. Annoyed, one of the generals stood and smashed his servo on the table in front of him.

“I’m telling you, Megatron is a fool!” the general known as Starscream yelled angrily, trying to get the other generals on his side. “We have all been loyal to him from the moment he decided to take Cybertron from the Autobots, but this has all gone on long enough! Megatron doesn’t even seem to be trying anymore. We haven’t unleashed an attack upon the Autobots in solar cycles, always looking for more Energon instead of defeating our opponents. I don’t know about all of you, but I for one am tired of it.” He looked around the room at the other Decepticon generals. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem as confident in Starscream.

“And what do you propose we do about ‘zis?” One of Megatron’s top generals had grown tired of ignoring Starscream-the only female Megatron trusted, Strika. “Make you our leader? Try to take down ze most poverful Decepticon in ze universe?” She asked with a laugh, getting a few of the others to chuckle as well.

Starscream glared at her. “That is exactly what I am proposing-a coup. Our combined strengths would be enough to finally overthrow Megatron! Then, under someone else’s leadership, we’ll finally destroy the Autobots and have Cybertron for ourselves. As for that new leader,” he said with a smug smirk. “I was thinking he should be the most capable of us all, with a cool head and excellent strategy skills. However, unlike with Megatron’s rise to power, I feel we should have a vote.”

Rampage, who had been keeping out of the conversation, laughed heartily. “Only problem with that is that you’d never even come close to winning-only a Con with a screw loose would vote for you!” Soundwave nodded in agreement. “Rampage’s point: Logical. Statistical analysis shows low chances for Starscream’s victory. Percentage: 17%.”

Starscream’s null rays began to glow as he powered them up for an assault on the other Decepticons. “How dare you insult me! If it wasn’t for me and my total command over the aerial forces, this war would have been lost long ago! I am the only logical choice as the next leader of the Decepticons! Why I-”

“Oh Starscream, give it a rest.” One of the Decepticons said with a growl. He stood up, towering over the other general. “You’ve been trying to convince us that Megatron is a terrible leader for far too long, and we’ve all kept quiet for your sake, as you’re the best Air Commander we’ve had in a while.” He glared down at Starscream “But now it’s getting old. Cut it out, or I’ll cut it out for you-and by it,” he suddenly reached out and grabbed at Starscream’s throat “I mean your vocal processor.” He released the choking Decepticon as he sat back down, smiling a bit.

“Fine, Overlord,” he hissed, rubbing his neck “I’ll be quiet now-but one day soon, you’ll finally understand what I mean. You will all see that Megatron is unfit to rule the Decepticons.” Starscream said with a growl; a growl that was suddenly cut short by the sound of a firing fusion cannon. Starscream flew forward, crashing into the other side of the room. “Oh really Starscream? You feel as if I have outgrown my usefulness?”

The other five generals suddenly stood at attention as the leader of the Decepticons stormed across the room, grabbing the treacherous Con by the head, dragging him to his feet. “If it wasn’t for the fact that you’re one of our best flyers, I would slag you right here and now. We, however, have work to do.” He pushed the other robot away, turning to the rest of his generals. “We have discovered a new source of Energon-one that, once we tap into it, shall provide us with enough power to finally take down the Autobots.” His wicked grin was shared amongst his generals at the idea of victory.

Megatron began to pace as he issued his instructions. “Soundwave, began creating the Energon cubes. When we arrive on the planet, I will take with me a crew to help build the dams necessary. Shockwave will come along be with me, Soundwave, and Overlord on the build team. Rampage, and Starscream, you shall go on a scouting mission to find more places to build dams. We will split the troops in two to build and scout as well. My remaining two generals will stay here on the ship, one to monitor for Autobots, the other to keep an eye on our wounded Hooligan.” He looked at the sick bay, where Hooligan was resting. “We need every Con out there we can get.” Megatron went back to the door and paused as it opened. “Everyone prepare yourselves, we shall be arriving in a matter of cycles now.” Then he left the Decepticons to prepare to follow his orders, wondering how long it would take for his old enemy Optimus Prime to finally catch up to him.

wow, i'm really on fire today-it's weird cause with Headformers, i often hit writer's block, but this practically flows from my mind to the computer.

    Chapter 3

As those thoughts passed through Megatron’s mind, Optimus Prime and the other Autobots were doing exactly that; closing in on Megatron’s position. The Ark was just a bit faster than the Nemesis due the smaller amount of exterior weapons, and soon Ironhide had once again caught the Decepticons in on the monitor.

Meanwhile, in the council room, Ultra Magnus had stood up and was glaring at Optimus furiously. “What is going on here, Optimus?” He asked him, fairly confused. “Why have we changed our course?” Ultra Magnus’s question made sense, but he was challenging him for another reason; the only reason Ultra Magnus didn’t have the rank of Prime was because the council chose Optimus, not him. Sentinel had been chosen because of his experience, and Rodimus for his creativity. Ultra Magnus knew that he was more qualified to pilot the ship and command the Autobots, but Optimus was practically Alpha Trion’s son. Ultra Magnus resented him for that, and because of that decision, he ended up merely as a peacekeeper during meetings, though he was usually the one to cause a ruckus. Although he had a higher ranking than the Primes, he still wanted to be in the battlefield, not sitting in a room behind a desk somewhere. And while he respected the council’s decision, Ultra Magnus didn’t like it, not at all. Sensing the tension in the room, Rodimus Prime decided to cut the tension. “He asks a good question, Optimus-why the change in course?”

Optimus seemed to be deep in thought, and paused for a moment before speaking. “We have changed our course because Megatron has changed his. After we damaged the heat shields on the Nemesis to keep the Decepticons from getting too close to stars for solar energy, Megatron has been scanning for a new way to gather Energon, and unfortunately, he seems to have found one. Not too far from this solar system’s sun is a small blue planet, one whose underwater currents are powerful enough to make massive quantities of Energon.”

Sentinel Prime nodded, listening. “Ah, I see. The problem then is that the planet is filled with life, correct?” He asked, trying to figure out why Optimus seemed to be so stressed. But Optimus shook his head “No, it would appear that the planet is barren, and our scans detect no forms of life.”

Rodimus grinned, leaning back in his chair. “So then what’s the problem? We fly over, wait for them to get out of the Nemesis to build their dams, then blow it up and take out a few Decepticreeps in the process. What’s the problem?”

Optimus sighed. “I… I don’t know. Something about all this seems to be familiar. I get the feeling deep in my chassis that there’s something important down on that planet. I do not know what specifically, but I do know that we must not destroy that planet.”

The Primes and Ultra Magnus all began to talk amongst themselves, debating about what to do. “Look, Optimus, I know you’re probably the best Prime of us all,” Rodimus said, breaking the quiet. “You have great battle instincts, and I’ve never seen an Autobot fight with such a burning passion,” Sentinel added, though somewhat regretfully, like he did not fully agree with what was happening. “But without a viable reason not to destroy the planet, we must,” finished Ultra Magnus. “For the sake of the universe. I’m sorry Optimus, I really am.” However, Alpha Trion’s hologram spoke. “Excuse me, Ultra Magnus, but I believe Dai Atlas and I get to vote as well, do we not?” he asked, turning to see the bot he was speaking to. Not liking his tone, he nodded. “This is true-all members of the Autobot High Council get to vote.” Alpha Trion did not smile, but his optics seemed to twinkle as he spoke, “Then I vote we trust Optimus Prime and his instincts-the same instincts that earned him the rank of Prime in the first place.”

Optimus Prime nodded his head at Alpha Trion. “Thank you, sir. And your vote, Dai Atlas?” The other member turned to Alpha Trion, who nodded. “I too vote to not destroy the planet. Go down to it, see if the planet is worth saving. I recommend that everyone goes down to the planet, so that your search may be swift. To help you in your scouring of the planet, I shall send Blurr to help speed things up.”

Ultra Magnus was seething angrily, but when he spoke, he hid the anger in his voice. “Well then we have 2 Prime votes and one High Council vote for destroying the planet, and 2 High Council votes and one Prime vote for keeping the planet, we must follow the laws of our kind. Since every High Council vote is worth 1.5 Prime votes, the total count ends at 3.5 for destruction, 4 for investigation.” He sighed, turning in his chair to face away from Optimus Prime. “Then it is decided. We will land on the planet and try to find a reason to save it from destruction. But if there isn’t one, then we will terminate it. Council dismissed.”

The holograms turned off and Sentinel and Rodimus left the room. Ultra Magnus did not leave right away; both he and Optimus were still in the room. He wouldn’t turn around, he couldn’t bare to watch Optimus try to hide his smile behind his faceplate. “I hope you're right, Optimus. For the sake of the universe and yourself, I hope you're right.” And with those final words, Ultra Magnus left the room. Optimus Prime still stood there, thinking. He hadn’t been hiding a smile behind his faceplate, for under it, he wore a grim expression “I hope I’m right too.” Suddenly, the ship spun out of control, throwing Optimus against the wall. As he tried to reorient himself, he heard Ironhide shouting the obvious. “We’re under attack!”

    Go to Chapter 4

Obviously a different style of government for the Autobots from G1, but i liked what they did with Animated. I'm trying to make Sentinel the older kinda guy, Rodimus as a rather chill kinda dude (less self doubt!) and Magnus as someone who is upset he's no longer physically fighting the good fight, and blames Optimus for it. hope that kinda came across in the chapter.

    Here's the next part-hopefully it's exciting!

    Chapter 4

“Shockwave! Quickly, recharge the plasma cannons!” Megatron’s optics blazed with fury as he shouted his orders. Shockwave scrambled at the controls, trying to divert all essential power to their weapons. The previously nearly empty control room was now filled with Decepticons, all trying to bot their weapons, which were non-responsive. “What are you waiting for? Quickly, before they have a chance to retaliate, blast them into smithereens!” Once Megatron had seen the Autobots arriving early, he had taken advantage and decided to surprise them with an assault-one that would hurt Autobots and Decepticons alike.

Shockwave’s one eye glared at Megatron. “We have no Energon left to spare, my liege! Our shields are running at bare minimum, and we don’t even have enough power to land safely on the planet. We must land on the nearby moon; otherwise, we shall destroy ourselves during the entry of the planet’s atmosphere.”

Megatron smashed his servo on his armrest furiously. “Optimus Prime and his crew should not have found us so quickly, they never rush into a situation without a plan. They must know why we’re here, and I would be foolish not to think he plans to stop us by destroying the lifeless planet…” Megatron suddenly smiled a cruel smile. “They must have charged their only weapon powerful enough to decimate that planet… unleashing that energy would blow their ship out of the skies!” The Decepticon leader cackled, then turned to the nearest Decepticon. “Jolt! Target the underbelly of the ship, blow a hole through the centermost set of doors. Fracture, bring the ship around! Shockwave, divert all power from the shields. With the Autobots destroyed once and for all, we won’t need them.”

“Mirage, status report! How bad is the damage?” The bridge of the Ark had filled itself with Autobots, all trying to help get the ship working once again. “Too difficult to tell right now, Optimus. All our scanners are down.”

“All of our scanners?” Optimus asked in disbelief. He heard a jumble of answers. “Thrusters offline,” “Shields unresponsive,” “Energon reserves seem to be depleted.” Mirage looked to the head of the Autobots and shrugged. “Either the scanners are unresponsive or giving negative readings. It’s not lookin too good.”

Optimus hung his head and sighed, then turned to Ironhide. “What’s the status on our largest cannon, is it still charging?” Ironhide kicked at the console in front of him and it turned on. “Almost at firin’ strength, Prahm. Should we still target the planet, or fire on the Decepticons? They just turned off the ship’s shield, an’ are right in the range of the cannon. They’re sittin out there, doin nuttin.” Optimus Prime’s optics suddenly widened with realization. “Brace yourselves for impact!” As the words left his vocal processor, a single shot came from the Nemesis and penetrated the by doors, sending an enormous ball of flame throughout the entire ship.

Megatron cackled as he watched an enormous ball of flame engulf the Ark. “Finally, the Autobots are NO MORE!!!” The leader of the Decepticons looked around at the cheering Decepticons, smirking at Starscream; a pest he would deal with later. For now was a time to celebrate. But first, there was work to be done.

“My fellow Decepticons! We must hold the celebration, for there is still much work to be done. Fracture, now that there is no need to land in case of the arrival of the Autobots, get us into a stable orbit. The rest of us are going down to the planet. We still need Energon to return to Cybertron, and excess Energon to destroy any Autobots that dare to stand in our way.” He watched as the fireball that was once the Ark plummeted towards the watery planet. “Though when we land, I shall not be overseeing the building of the dams. I shall be retrieving the head of Optimus Prime!!!” He yelled triumphantly as the rest of the Decepticons roared.

The rest of the Decepticons minus Starscream, who was sneaking off to the side, not wanting to be spotted; he was too ashamed to admit that Megatron had finally destroyed the Autobots. “Megatron couldn’t have defeated the Autobots, that was my destiny!” The treacherous Decepticon knew the Autobots were alive. They had to be, for he was certain it would be he who brought about the fall of his enemies and Megatron.

Could this be the end of the Autobots? Tune in next time to find out!"
