This is an old video, and I think there's another thread about from a while back...

    yup, TWO in fact:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/general-discussion/119167-30-hornets-vs-30-000-bees-who-ya-got.html

But yeah, it's a really neat example of niche adaptation and geographical differences between similar species. It's also a neat example of just what a hive society is capable of in order to survive.

It's also a neat example of why you never, under any circumstances, fuck with the hymenopterans. Bees will pollinate your plants, they will begrudgingly share their honey, but do not press your goddamn luck. And hornets? Shit, they're like bees on steroids without the helpful nature. When youve got a Hornet the size of a chicken mcnugget with venom that's even more dangerous than a normal Hornet, watch out.

Yep, Japanese hornets REALLY terrify me, mostly because of how freaking HUGE they are.

Not sure if this means anything or not, but when I clicked open this thread, I was half expecting to see a picture or video of a massive Camaro pileup where at least one of the victims (by this I mean the cars) was yellow. Either that or something to do with Bumblebee..
