WhiteMocha's got a good point: Robot Heroes-type Battle beasts would rock.

That said, The Gator looks just fine to me. I'd pay $6 for him!

When you think about it, Robot Heroes really are the same thing. 2-packs with squat, miniature, mech-warriors, with a joint at each shoulder, and nothing else.

The Mini-Mates guys are barking up the wrong tree. They shouldn't be making Battle Beasts out of Mini-Mates. They should just make Battle Beasts. Period. :)

Just says '2010 Battle Beasts: The Roar Rages On'

These could be really great, and I hope they are.

    HOLY SHI.....

It's the modern day return of Grusome Gator!!!!

Oh wow........... I want this all!!!! NOW!

    *breaths*

I guess this is maybe some kind of answer to the huge Gromiti craze in Europe that was dipping into America.

Anyhow this is great and also brings a new customizing flare to the Battle Beasts line.

No, here is the problem with this : TOO MANY PARts! Orinal BBs are one piece with a weapon. That's it. This toy will be falling apart and no fun. Also no rub sign?

Hmm. Interesting. Wish Hasbro Takara did these. I despise Minimates.

This looks okay, but the head is too big and it lacks the charm of the originals. I'll skip these and collect the old ones....

Thanks for the review, but that Background Music is so annoying I wanted to rip off my ears 1/3 of the way through!

While the lack of an emblem disappoints me severely, I may purchase a few of these. I love the line as a child and am excited to see its return. Does anyone know when they are to be released and what the MSRP is to be? Can anyone confirm the details about the ~$25?

Are Minimates released widely throughout the US?

I have never liked minimates...but...but these I like for some strange reason.

Hopefully they won't all be overpriced $25 two packs and maybe they could even get a mass release (or at least a store exclusive like what happened to TF Mighty Muggs).

I'm just sitting here thinking of all the animals I want them to Battle Beastify!

Being a big-time Minimate collector, I can tell you with a fair degree of confidence that these won't be falling apart. With a few exceptions (such as the recent, first appearance X-Men set), Minimate parts will stay on pretty good unless you play with them too much.

Yes. They are available at most comic shops, there are exclusives at Toys R Us, and you can order them from several online retailers such as BBTS, Scifigenre, and Action Figure Xpress.

Regarding the $25+ lab set, I personally think that is a bad idea that isn't going to work for DST. But though a Battle Beast will apparently come packaged with this thing, I don't suspect that this is Diamond's main Battle Beast strategy.

Instead, I would put money on their releasing single or double packs of these guys. Probably 2-packs priced around $7, though possibly single packs priced around $4-5. Those are rough, retail prices for Minimates.

So basically it's not realy a new Battle Beast line, but just Battle Beast themed Minimates.

I mean that's still kind of cool, but I'd agree with those who said it just doesn't have the same charm of the originals. The lack of a chest emblem definitely detracts from it feeling like a Battle Beast. They wouldn't even have to do a rub-sign. Just put a tampoed or sculpted emblem on the chest.

I donno. I'll wait to see more, but I don't think I'm that interested in this.

Couldn't agree more. Now that would have been awesome.

Didn't see them resurrect those little guys. Looks kind of cool. A little bit of articulation is good of course but I still prefer the orginals I think, but we'll see when Killer Karp comes along.
Would be cool to give 'em Autobot and Decepticon emblems to show thier alligance like in Japan.
All birds and mammals (except the bat) where on the Autobots side and the others where fighting for the Deceptions if I remember correctly, at least early in the toyline prior to the laserbeast.
Makes me want to watch that episode in Transformers Headmasters that they were in (well technically they were in two episodes cuz the decepticons had some of them enslaved later on).

For once I am with the masses on this, that a $25 price tag for each figure is outrageous.
when I remember the originals being about 7 or 8 times cheaper back in the 80's.Totally a
pass for me at that price.Oh and with it being a Diamond release I doubt you will be able
to find many of them. Finally I say this was a waste of a front page news spot. And
thankfully these won't be around but a few months and they cancel them due to lack of
    sales.
