My apologies if this has been done. Please merge if so.

So let us discuss a truly amazing cartoon, far more than just a kid's show. It was fantastic Batman fiction and had fantastic themes.

I just saw Heart of Ice for the first time in years. It is, in my opinion, deeper and more interesting than any Transformers cartoon.

Things noticed when recently rewatching the series:
    1. Multiple studios did the animation. Some good animation and then some horrible ones. Once in a while it seems they blew their animation budget on a complex sequence that really didn't need it. Just to show off I guess.

    2. Gotham City must have a building code that requires C4 build into everything. Hardly an episode goes by where a minor thing being damaged leads to the entire building going up like a fireworks factory.

    3. Batman is a wuss more times then he should be allowed to be. Several episodes have him getting his ass kicked by people that should not be able to do it.

Easily one of the best cartoons of all time. Never get tired of watching reruns.

I love this series. Every character is unique in every way, and I love it. And of course I love Harley. :D . But Ventriloquist, Clayface, and Mr. Freeze aren't bad, either.

Shame modern cartoons can't be awesome like B:TAS.

Just thought I'd revive the thread.

Man, Judgement Day was on last night. That ending REALLY shocked me. This series is so well written.

There still are some great modern toons from Thundercats 2011, TF Prime, MLP Friendship is Magic etc.

Don't forget Superman TAS which shares the same universe.

Indeed the greatest animated show ever.

How old was everyone when it first aired? 11 and been a fan of Batman since 89 as i knew one day they do an animated show, even my bigger brother and sometimes my mom digs this show as we'd watch it together.

Who thinks Bruce Timm knows how to make lovely ladies? i do like my childhood comic dreamgirl Catwoman, Ivy, Harley and Talia, he's an amazing artist/designer/producer.

And who thinks this show has a nice cast especially Mark Hamil to Richard "Bull Shannon" Moll?

Good timing...I just bought the series, on disc 3 of Season 1.

I've always loved Batman Beyond and finally thought it was time to give this 'earlier' series a look see.
I've looked around for more info, sure there's a Batman site or 50, but I guess it was set in the 1940's or so, which would have made Bruce pretty darn old for the Beyond series. It's made me a fan of Kevin Conroy for sure.

Also, today I saw the Batman movie: Mask of the Phantasm and I really liked the background story for Andrea and Bruce. Sad but insightful for sure. Good movie to watch b4 the Batman TAS series I thought, even tho it originally premiered during the series' run.

Okay, on to another disc. :popcorn

It wasn't set in the 40s (the New Adventures of Batman continuation of BTAS indicates it occurs in the 90s), but it was desired for the scenery to give off that 40s atmosphere

Gotta shake my head at that...as far as the animation anyway, there's no way the cars, the manner of dress both for men and women and the tech are 90's era. The series AIRED in the 90's yeah, but I gotta believe the setting was much older...I was hoping 50's-60's but it does look even older. Maybe it's an alterate world setting. *shrugs*
