    wow...

this issue was freaking amazing...but first:

i've been a big batman fan for a long time...but when grant morrison took over, it kinda freaked me out...when issue 663 came out, i had trouble making it past the first 3 pages...so i put it down for awhile...this last weekend i picked it up again...and read everything form 663 to the current issue, as well as all the detective issues that came out since then too...

i've definately fallen in love with his work, and this latest issue was just stunning...it such an insane story, and its only the first issue...i can't wait for more...just not sure about the tie-in books, and how necesarry they are, since i don't read robin or outsiders, and was just about to drop nightwing...

but as far as the main story goes, its fantastic...the joker is at his absolute most insane that i've ever seen him...i can't wait for more...and how all of this ties in with final crisis just gets me so excited...

    Two things:

1.) Who are the members of the Black Glove? I didn't recognize any of them.

2.) Does the new Batmobile serve a purpose other than, "Cool a new Batmobile?"

I was kind of meh to Morrison during "Batman and Son," And I skipped "Ressurection of Ras"...But the last 5 issues have been freakin AMAZING. I bet Jezebel is gonna hurt Bruce, like use his identity against him...hurt him BAD.

    Dude.. this story was awesome..

Clizm turned my head to this storyline.. I'M GLAD HE DID

Did you guys read DC#0 for Bats?

It deals with Bats and Joker and the Black Glove (short and not very spoilery).. that was crazy good too.

    This was a good read!

I bet you there's a million hints and clues I missed about the plot and black glove though :lol

Joker: "Scary isn't it.. when you can't see what's coming"

    Thanks again, C

Resurrection of Ras was great, the Detective Comics follow up after part 7 was fucking AWESOME. Ras won't be doing much at all for a while.

At the end of this issue...did Joker kill anyone, or is that supposed to be imagery in his head?

I missed a lot of the Grant Morrison Batman run because that was when I was debating whether or not to just drop comics altogether. But thanks.

    It's in his head.

The Black hand's messenger cuts the power, kills Joker's Doctor, and that's his blood you see splattered on Joker.

I must admit I'm really curious about this story, but I've just been burned by Morrison too many times. I just don't understand the appeal.

The only Morrison Batman so far that has appealed to me was the Club of Heroes arc, though that was mainly because of JH Williams III's incredible art. I wasn't really impressed that much with this latest issue, Jezebel as a character does nothing for me, mainly because she hasn't been developed at all. I do have hopes for the rest of the story though, since the villains look pretty interesting, and the Joker scene was pretty good, if confusing. Plus, it's Morrison, so there's a chance it'll be good. Because unlike some people, I don't think everything he does is the absolute greatest thing ever.

what do you guys think about all the batman RIP tie in books coming out? they arent written by morrison, so i wonder how much they'll really tie-in...and if they are even necessary to buy...i'm not reading robin, outsiders, and was just about to drop nightwing, so it seems like those books might be worthy of dropping and saving money on...

I'm looking forward to the Detective issues, if Dini is writing with Morrison on those issues since I love Dini's storytelling.

So far, still not getting into Morrison's writing here, but I guess I'll wait and see.

I know Robin's tie in is next month. Outsiders looked like it was focused on Metamorpho.

Picked up the first issue. Meh, big let down. Not looking forward to the other tie-ins either. Robin and Nightwing were entirely useless during the Ra's crossover, and now I get to looked forward to some other peripheral characters who will not be appearing in Batman at all? Pass
