Eh, batman is like... top tier ninja, but I really hope they show how when the turtles work together and get in sync they give him a good go.
Issue 2 was pretty fun. Batman does outclass the Turtles... but then Splinter comes into it. I think Williams makes the New52 Bat-suit look good, but being that this is out-of-continuity anyway, I think it would have been better if this was just standard Batman suit -- maybe even bringing back the blue and grey. Still, Batman is meant to look like a big boogey-man, so black and grey, it is. (stupid Cat-mobile is still present for a few panels)
damn, didn't even realise it was released. I always check idw section and just expect it to show up there grabbing it now
Preview: BATMAN TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #4 - Comic Vine And they ordered pizza. And the Joker seems to want in on this.
Just read issue 4 -- it was pretty fun. I still wish they hadn't gone with a New 52-ish Batman design, since this is not in continuity anyway, but at least this Batman acts a bit more like an older Batman. I still hate the "Catmobile" -- which makes the scene with Donatello Spoiler crashing the BTAS Batmobile both funny and sad.
I missed the first issue due to some holiday stuff and some family drama, but I've picked up issues 2-4. Really fun story so-far and I'm really loving the artwork. Was cool seeing the BTAS batmobile. Not so cool seeing Spoiler the Turtles trash it . The bit between Bruce and Raph in Crime Alley was great.
Some good writing here so far. Spoiler Batman actually gets on well with the Turtles, like a foster-family he never had. Mikey harasses Alfred. [grinning_face] Raph, jerk as usual, thinks he's just a rich kid doing thrill-seeking, but Batman tells him about his parents and that he wants to save people from the fate that happened to them. A definite improvement over the cold-hearted vigilante in BVS. Casey Jones arrives in Gotham. Shredder teams up with Ra's Al Ghul and they take mutagen to Arkham Asylum... holy slag.
Spoiler Man, many of Batman villains became mutants in issue #5. Too bad some of the mutated villains doesn't have a fitting animal form like Bane.
I think Spoiler Bane's mutated form was very fitting. A bear would have worked, but with Freeze being a polar bear, I think a raging bull elephant works just as well, if not better . Anyways, reall good issue, just like the ones before it. The interactions between all the different characters are really working well. Though I'm curious to see how they manage to wrap up the story with just one issue left. There's an interview on the DC entertainment Youtube channel with the writer, and by the sounds of it the book has been selling really well. So much so that there might be talks of doing another one in the future. Would be nice, though based on just my LCS's stock of the book, I was assuming it hadn't been selling all that well.
Yeah, I liked it well enough. Spoiler Bane should have been a Grizzly Bear, because Osito, but since Freeze was a Polar Bear, I can understand why they went with something else. Elephant works fine -- a Rhino would have been cool, but it wouldn't be nice to step on Rocksteady's game.
Sorry for the necro bump folks.. Got the hardback edition in my comic book collection and love the storyline (especially the shenanigans with Alfred minus the Catmobile). Might do something special in regards with this comic.
