So I was walking to work today and say a whole mess of trailers. Turns out batman is back in Chicago. After work, I found out they were just starting filming for the day. I got to see quite a few costumes but no batsuit and I have a feeling the freaking batcycle is floating around the city. They were filming on the top floor of a parking garage. Then I saw the extras sign. I was really tempted to walk in and see if I could play a part but I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way. Tomorrow though, I'll be stopping back to see anyway. If I can snag some pics, I will. Sorry but I'm just freakin excited.
Cool man. I remember back when filming for Batman Begins was going on and someone was able to snag pictures of Batman on a rooftop at night? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Probably. I remember that filming because it was the middle of the night and I was coming home from a friends house but couldn't go anywhere downtown because they practially closed off the city.
I love these things. On the summer 0f 05 I walked around San Francisco stumbling over Will Smith's movie sets all over the city. It was crazy. they dressed certain parts of the city with 80's style cars, buses and street signs. It was so cool.
As much as I love Batman Begins, Batman: Dark Knight sounds overdone so far. Four bad guys (The Joker, Riddler, Two-Face AND Scarecrow), and that wild bat cycle? Here in Tucson I don't recall them shutting down a part of the city or anything like that for a movie. We've had SEVERAL westerns filmed out here, and even the short lived Richard Dean Anderson (MacGuyver) and John DeLancee (Q from STNG) series Legend.
Well considering it is like always Westerns, Broadway and Craycroft just doesn't have that "Old West" feel to it. They did film that piece of shit "Can't Buy Me Love" at the Tucson Mall, the Plane Graveyard and I think Tucson High. But who really cared? Getting a peek at Batman would be super cool.
You never know Wreckgar, a big movie like that, they could possibly need all the extras they could get, you should have tried imo. I had some experience doing extra work on low budget indie films when I was in Los Angeles. It's pretty boring, waiting around for hours till they need you. I imagine the buzz on a huge mainstream set would be cooler though.
