Me and my roommate saw this like a month ago (which he promtly bought). If I'd know this was news, I'd have posted it myself. Now I feel bad...

Interestingly enough, Mark Hamill played a main character in both movies.

It's news that the DVD is available in stores for such a low price, but this isn't the first time the unrated version has been available.

I remember seeing a screener pre release of the original, only to find out they edited the released version, I found and signed the petition as soon as I could find it. It's one of my favorite movies. I wish more DC projects could be as well done.

I've had this for awhile, but it's been in their discount bins for this price from some time now.

    quick question people

just what exactly did the censorship committee have against the adult members ofthe dc comics fanbase getting their hands on a uncut uncensored original version of the movie way back in 2000

when it comes to said adult fan being a fan of the dc comics timmverse animated continuity and also being a person of legal age to purchase and otherwise posess such a movie of that particuler rating?.

in short why didn't they just sell both version of the movie back in 2000?

the butchered version forr the kids and the uncut unsencored version for the adults.

To avoid confusing the public and to avoid creating bad publicity.

2 versions is a pretty bad idea because it would potentially create market confusion. Also, there are millions of kids of the target demographic Batman Beyond was targeted at. There are comparatively only a small, small handful of adult fans who craved seeing the violence.

And yeah, given Batman Beyond was apparently created *solely* to sell toys, this movie wasn't created for the adult comic book fans.

There are a few more frames in some of the fights, but the main thing is that you see more of what Joker did to Robin.

It is more implied in the edited version.

And there's more blood (or should I say, there actually is blood). A few of the deaths are handled onscreen, rather than being cut-away shots or glossed over. And yeah, the outcome of the final Arkham confrontation is different. In the cut version, it's an accidental electrocution. In the uncut, it's, well...
