So I know of several baseformers, Metroplex, tripticon of course, fortress expensiveus, then G1 versions of prime's trailer, nemesis prime from RID or Scourge, what other base formers are there?

Trying to get a good series of bases for a diarama and photos.

What are your favorite bases and why? For me Size counts but Fortress is too expensive right now.

G1 Ironhide/Ratchtet's trailers made bases as did G1 Rodimus Primes. Cybertron Primus has a base mode if i remember right.

If you want to know about baseformers, check out TFDoc's display from the Allspark.

Don't forget all the Micromaster bases! Skyhopper, Groundshaker, Countdown, Greasepit, Hothouse, Ironworks, etc. I love those little guys.

There's also the expensive repaints of some of the ones you already mentioned... Metrotitan and Grand Maximus (plus Brave Maximus, the stripped-down RiD Fort Max repaint).

As for favorites, I'm a big Metroplex fan. He's a fun, affordable figure with lots of bells and whistles. I also dig Scorponok, though I don't own the mold and haven't seen it in person since I was a kid.

I've always liked Armada Prime's base mode. And RID Prime's.

Micromaster bases are pretty easy to find and cheap. You can find the smaller ones such as Hot House for around $10 USD and larger ones like Countdown for around $20-$50 USD loose. It's also great that you can use the ramps to connect the bases together. I have all of them except Groundshaker, and they are all very cool :D

Here are all toys that are meant to represent a large city or base (whether the toy itself is large or not):

    All large bases and cities.

And here are all other "structures", which include smaller battle stations as well as things like Firehouses, gas stations, and the like:

    Other structures

Get powermaster optimus prime. His base mode has some really great stickers that bring the detail out. It can be found fairly cheap as the 2001 reissue.

Also if your really want something unique:

I kept this item from my childhood in 1989: the computer warriors converting computer-battlestation. I use it as a decepticon headquarters backdrop sometimes and it delivers a pure tech 80s vibe. dig.

only HTF micromaster US bases to find are unbroken skystalkers and the missile launcher/tanker transports the latter can set you back 70-100$ depending on condition (at least on ebay)
how I wish Takra re-releases grandus and big powered they had some neat base modes
