However if you read here Patrick Hruby states that Bonds only has 614 legit HRs

This comment by Bonds makes me laugh and lose respect for him

That maybe true, but the size and strength one gains from a 6-8 week AAS(steroid)cycle would help IMMENSELY in powering those home runs.

I mean if steroids don't help, then what's the point in taking them.Since unless doctor prescribed are illegal to purchase.Which is the one aspect of steroid law that puzzles me.They're not illegal to use, just illegal to sell and purchase

I liked the banner some people where holding up at a game a week or two ago that said something like “The Babe did it with hotdogs and beer, what did you do it with?”

Ya it was something like "The Babe did it with hot dogs and beer, Hank Aaron did it with class, What did you do to deserve it?"

Just more proof that MLB is a joke. I haven't watched a game since they went on strike last time, bunch of overpayed crybabies. The whole Bonds and players on roids thing has wiped out any credibility they've ever had for me.

    Funniest quote ever:lol  :lol  :lol

What's sad is that it's true.I've seen pictures of Babe Ruth, judging by his face his body probably wasn't one to make women swoon

It took steroids to beat an old chubby guy's record. Bonds could've probably done it on his own through a good training & supplement regime. But now we'll never know:redface2:

I hate the Giants naturally due to being a Dodger fan. Barry is someone who should just go home. The roids have killed his joints, and in numerous interviews he shows the typical "roid rage" that's characteristic. The funny thing is that Giants fans back him so much, but at the end of the season he becomes a free agent, and will likely sign with an AL club to play DH, so he doesnt have to hobble in the outfield and embarass himself while trying to catch balls.

I know a lot of Giants fans (living so close to SF and all) the with most of them they don’t like Bonds for his attitude and the roids but out of loyalty for the team they just don’t talk about it much. Like that one embarrassing family member no one talks about.

True.. Babe Ruth just used beer and hot dogs and crappy food.

Too me sports are a joke anymore. Look ath the 1992 olympics compared to the last one. 1992. The Dream Team. they ACTED like a team. The best in the world and they shut out every opponent like it was nothing.

2004.. The best players we have to offer... and the LOSE!! Why? because they are individuals.. not a team..

I cant help but wonder if its possible that Babe used steroids himself. Are top atheletes can only match the man with enhancers while babe was a bum when he was at boston. What changed? The world may never know.

I wonder what happened to the ball?

There was a Web site urging people to catch the record-tying and/or record-breaking balls, write "CHEATER!" on them with a Sharpie, and throw them back.

I loved watching the clips of his past homeruns over the years. The only bad thing was that they weren't shown in chronological order. One swing would be a tiny Bonds, the next swing would be a giant Bonds, then it would switch back to tiny. It would have been funnier in chronological order so you could see him getting bigger and bigger over the years.

The balls have changed drastically since then, pitchers are throwing faster since then, and ball parks have gotten bigger since the Babe.
