So, I head out to the sub shop yesterday wearing my Barricade t-shirt, not thinking anything of it. The lady running the register starts staring at my shirt with that pinched face expression of judgement. I get up to the counter and get a very unpleasant, "THAT is QUITE the shirt!" It took a moment to sink in that she was legitimately pissed off. I almost said thanks before I realized what she meant. I'm guessing she doesn't know what the Decepticon symbol is, and probably thought my shirt was some political statement against the police or something (to punish and enslave). Which is hilarious because the few actual police who've seen the shirt on me have complimented me on it and/or laughed about it.

I didn't even think to tell her what it was, but I was just so surprised at the time that I didn't know how to react.

Anybody else have weird reactions to Transformers gear? I've heard lots of "I remember those" stories before, but nothing quite like the angry old lady staring me down for wearing the Decepticop t-shirt.

What's wrong with wearing a Barricade t-shirt? And hey, where can I get one?

I've actually done that before to people who said "nice shirt" to me. I even did a respectable version of the voice. Though I didn't throw them on a car before yelling at them, so I wasn't super accurate. Have gotten a couple laughs though.

You can still get this shirt at HotTopic.com, though I think the size selection is going down. StylinOnline may have it too.

Gotta love clueless condescending old ladies that work in sub shops and pass judgment from behind the sub shop counter.

    Nice shirt, indeed.

I was gonna post that :(
You should totally have pushed her against the wall, constantly asking her if she is "Username: Ladiesman 217" :lol  Just Imagine the expression on her face :p

I've never got any negative comments on my "Custom constructicin shirt" (neon green with D-con symbol) But once this really cool employe at EB games asked if I liked transformers when I opened my jacket to fetch my wallet ^^ And I was like, Yeah love them! And he was all cool with it.

Most I've ever had was people asking if I was looking forward to/had seen the movie. No majorly negative reactions. :(

Provoking old ladies is what Cradle of Filth t-shirts are for. :D  (the music's not much use though)

I haven't gotten any negative reactions to my Barricade shirt, yet. I'm waiting for it to get cold enough to wear my Barricade Track Jacket, and then I expect I'll get some weird looks.

Somehow, I don't think even an explanation of the shirt's actual meaning would have cut it.

"No, it's not a political statement at all! See, it's the slogan and logo on this giant, evil robot that transforms into a police car and wants to destroy humanity! Isn't that much better than being a political commentary on the police force?"

You'd be surprised how many there are. If there's an old lady working at a sandwich shop, you can be DAMN sure she's passing judgement on everybody that so much as walks by the window.

Yeah I just checked and all they have is small...

[Comic Book Guy]" I find their choice in sizes highly illogical, since the average Transformers fan has no use of a SMALL t-shirt."[/Comic Book Guy]
