what do you think
Barricade was basically a cannon fodder-type villain who got hyped a lot by Hasbro and IDW, but didn't actually do much of relevance in the movie other than
a) attacking Sam, thus giving Bumblebee a chance to provr that he's one of the good guys,
b) duking it out with Bumblebee, thus showing that the yellow one is quite the formidable fighter.
His reputation is based more on implication rather than on stuff he actually did.
He was supposed to be offed by Optimus at the end of the movie, but apparently Hasbro thought they'd like to keep him around, so his death didn't make it into the final movie, and he just mysteriously disappears before the final battle. He got more toys, had more appearances in IDW's comics where he was built up as the notorious villain who always escapes at the end, in the hopes of having him return in a future movie. After skipping ROTF (though apparently Sidesways was at one point considered as Barricade), he finally returned in DOTM, as a background cannon fodder villain with even less actual screen presence than in the 2007 movie... and then got killed off.
Seriously, Drift has more substance to him than Barricade. He's mostly hype and little else.
I thought this was barricade in rotf
Get him a better continuity and we'll talk.
Also more Keith David goodness.
It would be awesome if Barricade makes it into the Hall of Fame in 2012, but I very much doubt that will happen.
No. Plus, Erector would rip Barricade's balls off any day of the week.
