So this is what my movie custom Barricade looks like right now. I use enamels on him. First I gave the parts I was going to paint over a flat black coat and then I drybrushed the silver on. I then updated pieces I had drybrushed into another flat black and put a gloss coat on there. (I didn't have gloss black) Then I drybrushed some pieces with a gloss purple (over the silver) to get that movie look.

I forgot to mention I used pieces of the Robot Replica to add to the arms and replace the head. I also cut away all the of the original hands.

Ofcourse I also added the lightbar!

Oh and I modified the pushbar so it would resemble the movie version more. Three more bars and 4 holes.

When all the paint has cured I'll make comparison pics with my second Barricade.

I'll need the Repro labels but paypal is acting up!

Also I retooled my Frenzy 2.0 because my little brother sat on him.

Frenzy 2.5 now has three digits on all hands and more articulation. I also cut away a lot of plastic from the head and mid section.

In addition I repainted a stikfas kid to resemble Sam from the movie with his strokes T shirt and he's waving around his grandpa's glasses.

cool work. that's one of my favorite moves...flat black with silver metallic drybrush, however, I like to put a middle-of-the-road in there also, I use the silver enamel just on the last pass, to highlight.

Reprolabels have been good to me, Jaime over there is real cool. I was making my own stickers via a friend with a vinyl plotter, but they are so much better, especially for cob/autobot symbols, I have a set coming SOON for my smokescreen custom.

Now, back on topic. Cant wait to see your finished Barricade, Frenzy is top knotch and Sam is just all kinds of LOLs. I want to do something similiar with my Barricade, but I dont have enough faith in my modeling ability to do the arm mods.

 

I didn't think there was any hope for this version of Frenzy. You've proved me wrong! He looks so much better with some added poseability and a better paint job.

I finished up a few details and put Barricade together today. The pictures do not do the thing justice  

Forgot to mention that I filled up all the screwholes too.

I still have to do the car mode (tires and some details)


I'm quite pleased. Maybe his legs could use a bit more black.

I really like how the head turned out! Very evil. It almost scream "ARE YOU USERNAME..." to me

It's very cool !   - but you're right it needs a bit more dark/black tint to it.

 

I was hesitant to do the RR head mod on mine, but damnit if that doesn't finally convince me, just looks great.

i think he needs alot more black, would leave the silver only for detailing in areas but thats just IMO
