How do you keep your hobby (Transformers or others) balanced with your professional/social lives? I've been having a little bit of difficulty with it recently- not like, "I'd rather stay home and fool around with my TFs", but just being excited for the movie, Botcon, etc.
You mean to tell me speaking to people on the Internet isn't a social life? People on Facebook are gonna be PISSED.
My main hobby is playing poker. That's a very social hobby, and I love playing with my friends. It's, probably, the thing that keeps me sane.
It's not easy, especially as I have to shift my focus more and more onto what is really important..and that ain't toys, games, and trading cards. Have finally found a system that works for me as far as managing my money though, a way that makes sure what is important is taken care of first and it goes down the line to where IF there is anything left, then I can buy a figure (if I have the room for it) or some cards or whatever.
I do it in moderation. I make time for school, sleep, work, friends, collecting. Sometimes they can intermingle. Like, I can be hanging out with friends while toy hunting for example. Or hanging out with "friends" at work. Sometimes, I'll sneak in some school work while I'm at work But for whatever reason....sleep never mixes with any of the above.
