I hate bagging and boarding my comics. I have an 18" stack of comics stashed under my desk because I have been putting off bagging and boarding them since about january. Anybody else running into this problem? Makes me consider dropping the habit sometimes.

i wouldn't call it a problem. if you want to keep your books in good shape, bag and board 'em. if you're just interested in them for the read, don't. simple as that.

I've only recently started bagging and boarding, and I really want to go back and bag and board my older comics too.

I usually do the same thing and put it off for a few months. They build up and then I finally get a few packs of bags and boards and spend a greater part of a day bagging them.

The only problem I encounter with bagging/boarding is that I run out of boards. My comic shop gives me a bag with each comic for free. :D

I follow Kevin Smith's advice, and just rip my comics in half after I read them.

I worked at a comic shop about 7 years ago. Every comic that came in, new or old, was bagged and boarded. It just sucked having to bag and board 300 comic every week. But seeing my own comic collection, I guess it was worth it.

Yeah I started way back when, I think afte reading I do it and just a habit. I had a ton that needed to be too (my DDP GI Joes, the TF books, and some stuff I got in grab bags to name a few)

I'm such an anal person, I look greedily look forward to bagging, boarding, and then filing each issue into its proper place.

I did decide a long time ago to halve my board/bag budget and put two issues in each bag, one on each side of the board, covers out. If you pick up stuff sporadically, it's not as good an idea, but since I pick up every issue of every series I read, sorting is very east.

I also don't let people borrow my comics, because whether they realize it or not, they are not going to handle them as carefully as I'd like. If people want to read them, they must do so at my house, and only touch them to turn the pages, never reading them while holding them. I know I'm nuts, and I can live with that.

The main shop I use has boards already in the bag at the register so I always buy one for each comic I get and bag them when I finish reading.
