Yeah they're all the way really. The problem is if you look at his feet, on the bottom is the taillights of the car that sort of lift him like a little platform. Sideswipe transforms differently and doesn't have that plus has a spoiler for support. He's move flat footed. Red Alert is sort of balancing on that taillight piece and doesn't have the spoiler either on his legs. He stands but he's not as stable so yeah, it's pretty normal.

 

I knew where it had to go… But I had the shoulders slightly mistransformed (or aligned badly) and couldn't get the chest to slide into place.
Don't get me wrong, after watching a quick vid, I smacked myself for my own stupidity!

 

I agree, I like him way more than I expected. Considering that he's a character that I didn't take much notice of in the cartoon it's strange how much I like this figure.

 

since more people are getting this in hand, can someone tell me if red alert arm is suppose to move on the ratchet or the pin? Mine spins on the ratchet on the left arm but moves on the pin on the right arm so I can't tell if the right arm is loose or the left arm is too tight.

got him a while ago, and in car mode i was kinda wondering if i made a bad purchase bc it looked kinda bland and lacked any oomph. Then i transformed him to bot mode weeks later and wow, he's really great looking, definitely a great job by bad cube!

Yeah. Both Badcube Steamroll and Recon are almost like scale model car replicas in alt mode. You can barely even tell they can transform! And Recon is a great representation of the cartoon look Red Alert had.

Until now, I never realized how Artfire's colors match with Recon. Hopefully you'll post some matching bot mode pics soon.

Yes. Someone quickly replied regarding two pieces on the underside of the roof that flip out which I didn’t do. Worked like magic.

 

Just got him modded up. Still took a long time, but 2nd time around was a LOT faster than the first. Will post more pics soon.

 

I can’t really get this back into car mode. So frustrating. I can’t get the robot chest to fold in flat enough so the white arm panels can go over them without buldging out the bottom of the car. Any pointers? I’ve been at this for an hour and I’m just about to give up.
