I don't get the confusion here, its obvious why they made this- I think its pretty deliberate they decided to pose him next to MP-39 instead of Sunsurge, to show how well he goes with the official Sunstreaker. I mean, my only real complaint about MP-39 is how he doesn't match all that well with MP-12. Since Sunsurge fits better with MP-12 in robot mode, might as well make a Sideswipe that goes better with MP-39.

I mean, I think the headsculpt prolly looks off to people in the same way MP-39 does. But that's never been a problem for me. So I'm definitely picking this up- I already have Sunsurge, Sunsteaker, and Sideswipe, so might as well get this for parity.

 

Surprised people aren't that into this.

Official Swipe badly needed an update (IMO), and aside from the head, it looks like an improvement in every way.

Put me down for one.

I may be in for these. I love the proportions, the collapse-able hood/chest does wonders for the overall look. I do think Sideswipes headsculpt is off, Red Alert is money though.. how do they mess that up? Also I would prefer them to not integrate the shoulder rocket. The big ass hinge on it detracts from the overall look, and I'd much rather plug that piece in. Sometimes full integration isn't the route to go if you sacrifice aesthetics.

Overall though, I recent bought both the + versions of the officials, and I'll definitely consider swapping for these!

 

I like them both. They fit the new line better even though I hope they'll improve the headsculpt.

Head and hands. Head and hands and we're good. But it's Badcube so flipper hands are practically a given. Headsculpt could be worse -- could be the MP-39 harlequin baby head.

 

Looking good to me. BBTS just listed these, and Sideswipe is 89 bucks. Seems about right, but was hoping for a bit cheaper.

 

already got my copy preordered. Despite all the complaints I am reading, I think that this thing looks great. I have both MP-12 and MP-12+ and this guy is going to replace both of them...I wont get rid of them (no way that happens), but the BC version will be my main SS in my MP line up. I love his new slender legs and his bulky feets and especially his narrower chest. The head is good too...and it is not "off"...it is based on the way his head was depicted in the cartoon (which varied).

I am a fan of BC's work...I own several of their bots. I am glad that they were the ones to take a crack at improving on MP-12.

Also, aside from the chest (and wow, he can open the hood and windows in alt mode!) what the hell is that much more of an improvement?

Cool people like this I guess. I think this was a ridiculous decision on their part. Hopefully it sells.

Only changes I'd make are bigger shoulder blocks to better balance the mass of the doors on the forearms and a better face sculpt. Not replacing my TT Swipe, but I'm always up for a cool car bot.

Actually the more I look at it the head is fine. It's the face. The face doesn't look right.

I'm pretty sure there's an ab crunch there too. It least it looks like there might be.

 

That FS is super ugly but other than that I like it.

I'm a big Sideswipe fan so I will absolutely pick this up if I can get it at a discount. $89 seems steep to me.

I do like the idea of 3P going directly up against existing TT MPs. Hopefully it will spur better figures as they compete.
