Just because Badcube did it doesn't mean Takara won't do an official version. If that was the case Takara would have never released Delta Magnus.

I imagine you're right. I might have to pick up a cheap Sunsurge when everyone purges and custom make a police deco. I'd rather have a BadCube over a Takara for uniformity (and I like Sunsurge more than the official right now)

Like another poster, I'm not opposed to the Takara mold, but I won't be buying it unless a sale / knock off comes out... just not that interested in booting Sunsurge from my shelf.

I'd go ahead and get Brawny now while the reissue is still available. Remember how it was when the first run dried up and were nowhere to be found? You can always sell it later if another company makes it. That's the approach I've taken with XTB Andras and the Swarm.

What paint did you use to give MP10's windows that blue tint?

 

Yeah, I actually sold Brawny when they were going for over $200 on eBay ... and that's Hasbro MP 10 with no mods, maybe just the angle/reflection makes it stand out?

I actually have my suspicions since Badcube's rep told me Sunsurge's designer is shy and didn't want their identity known. Mind you, that's just my own personal speculation. If you could design these things wouldn't you want your design released even after you get stuck drawing with crayons for the main line?

How'd you get the dye to stick? I'm trying to dye the KFC hands for Rodimus, and the lemon yellow Rit dye is barely adhering!

Nope, I've been heating up the Rit dye on the stove top and then soaking the hands in the heated dye, suspended in the liquid with some string.

 

Question, sorry if I am mistaken but as far as I understand: Why are you using fabric dye for plastics?

That said, if you are using modeling paint you want to coat the surface you want to paint either with black (if you go for a dark colour) or white (for lighter colours) and then paint over it.

 

Agreed. For plastics, you'll want to put on a thin layer of primer, and then some acrylic paint.
