Someone in Lima just won three items from me. I seem to recall someone saying never to send toys to Italy or Peru. Any help here?
Make em pay for a faster method of shipping aswell as tracking and insurance, or you can send the item to me
Any and all international shipping is quite expensive; those countries might just be worse than others. Depends mostly on the items.
I just sent a GI Joe figure to Italy and they don't allow "toys not wholly made of wood" so it got sent to the garbage(or stolen) and buddy DEMANDED all his money back and was a complete ass hat from hell, f-ed me over with feedback. I wouldn't do it but if you are use a trackable method and wait to leave feedback.
I send stuff to italy quite a lot and its normally okay with tracking and insurance, Peru however I'm not sure, I'm sending some stuff there this week so I'll let you know how it goes
I'd advise Global Express at the minimum. If you're asked to underdeclare the value, and are willing to do so, insist on a payment method that won't leave you prone to a chargeback. If they have low feedback, joined eBay recently, or little activity over an extended period you may want to push for a non-chargeback prone payment method anyway. Not remotely funny. That's just spamming.
It wasn't meant to be funny A lot of my friends have been to South America and there are some regions where this is just a fact
Sending toys & dolls of any kind to Peru is prohibited. http://pe.usps.gov/text/Imm/ps_005.htm#ep1345663 If Peruvian Customs happens open the box, into the void they go. If you're willing to gamble the success of this transaction, go for it, otherwise you may want to cancel.
Luckily the guy has a friend in Florida who is coming to visit so I'm sending it there now. He assured me the toys wouldn't get taken HA!
I've got a guy from Peru bidding on several of my items. He wanted to know after bidding if I'd ship to Peru. I've flat out told him it's at his own risk. I generally won't undervalue on customs forms, though I only list the item's value, not the total.
I restrict all my auctions to US & Canada only after a couple of bad experiences, one of them Italy. I was auctioning off a duplicate Energon toy and it went for $5.99. I got the shipping estimate from the post office for overseas, and we agreed to ship it cheapest method. He hadn't received it months later and asked if I could track it. I told him that it was shipped with no tracking, and there wasn't anything I could do. I felt bad, but that was the end of it. Then one guy from Poland bid on an auction of all my Spawn stuff and won - I had told him beforehand I wouldn't ship overseas, and he was kind of a PITA about it. It's just not worth the risk/hassle to me.
I've heard bad stories about both Peru and Italy. Is it worth a few extra dollars in a bid to go through a potential hassle? I say no.
just remember...paypal requires tracking...written email agreements for cheapest shipping mean NOTHING... if that buyer files a claim and you cannot track it, wave GOODBYE to your money as it flies away....EMS or nothing....
Wow, really? I've never had a real problem, so I haven't run across this. And do they require tracking or just delivery confirmation? That could definitely add to my shipping costs.
