okay I'm in film class and we're learning the difference between a bad film and a film you don't like. one bad movie I liked was green lantern, there were some scenes in that movie that just screamed to me "we're selling toys" (hal saving helicopter, hal versus paralax, hal vs hector, etc) but I enjoyed the movie. what other films do you recognize were bad movies but you liekd them anyway?

Top Gun- I didnt even know that movie had actors in it, just fighter jets.

Battle LA - The dialogue in this movie is absolute pants, and the story is overly simple. Seriously, this movie was made for First-Person-Shooter audience which is me. I love watching military action films, especially when they look good. Hurray for military guys not being completely useless in a alien invasion movie and kicking ass.

Alien 3 - I don't know what everyone's problem is with this film. The situation in this movie is intense. It's a hunter vs hunter scenario. The whole movie is about scheming a trap for a powerful foe. The way it ends couldn't be more perfect, and the twist is our heroine is infested! Ripley makes one of the most manly decisions ever.

    - Dracula 3000 - "Starring" Coolio! Completely stupid plot, incoherent story, bad performances from everyone, bad special effects and a nonsensical ending...but manages to be so bad that it's absolutely hilarious. Especially the ending.

    - Bangkok Dangerous - The remake starring Nicholas Cage. Taken on it's own, it's incredibly boring and nothing like the trailers. But when I watch it, I like to imagine that the title is the main character's name and I pretty much just MST3K the whole thing, shouting advice to "Bangkok Dangerous" and cracking jokes.

    - Jersey Girl - As much flak as this got, it's actually a fairly good movie, with a lot of decent performances. I'm not a fan of Kevin Smith's work any more, but I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected, based on the reviews it got.

    - Transformers The Movie (1986) - Much as I enjoy this film, and consider it one of my all-time favorites, it has so many flaws and problems that it's hard not to objectively call it bad. Doesn't stop it from being a lot of fun, though.

    - RotF - Same situation as TFTM86: Has so many flaws that it's objectively a bad film, but it's still fairly entertaining if you don't think about it too much (and hit the mute button when the Twins speak).

Street Fighter- Van Damme is really bad in this, but Raul Julia's final performance as Bison is epic...

Masters Of The Universe- Horribly corny, completely moronic, and somehow entertaining....

I'd recommend some animated films like 'Felix the Cat: The Movie,' and 'Freddie the Frog (FRO7).

These are examples of films that were just smooshed together, make alot of noise, have shoddy musical numbers, and oftentimes just linger on stupid things that don't advance the plot.

Something I don't get about Freddie The Frog (FRO7) Shouldn't it be "FR09" cause it looks like it spells frog in an odd way.

    Wasn't this a porno?

For me though, the movie "Screwed" with Norm MacDonald & Dave Chapelle comes to mind right away. I mean, the movie sucks ass by almost all estimations, but I still find it funny, so yeah.

National Lampoons Dorm Daze is kinda the same way for me, and that's something I watch every couple of years.

Probably at least a little bit.

Howling 3 is basically an unintentional mish mash of several genres, concepts and plotlines. None of which come together to form anything resembling a coherent film.

Though it certainly fits into the so bad it's good category for me.

    True, true.

You know, I know much about the first Twilight thanks to Rifftrax. Kinda hard to hear with Mike and Kevin saying smartass comments. :lol
