I'm off to my first Dutch TF con this weekend, any other boards members going?
Not me, even though I'm Dutch.
Just sticking with BotCon.
Yes I'm going! I wasn't planning to, due to my wife's pregnancy, but hey...the baby's born last week, everything is fine, so daddy's going to make some fun Sunday. See you there!
Cool see you there!
I'm dealing so if you have any requests let me know and I will bring them along!
I came, I saw and I conquered!
This was the biggest dutch TF convention to date! with over 300 attendees and even German and UK visitors it was very succesfull.
Even Hasbro Benelux joined the party!
There were loads of dealers (everything for sale!) Most notably a dealer who had stock of wave 1 Animated toys, those puppies went fast! (including to me!) and I've seen a lot of exclusive stuff too.
There was a kidscorner with cartoons and some activities (Balloon fusion cannons and null-rays FTW!)
Have your TF drawn by fellow boardmember (Hans) and two others.
Display cases were put up with all kinds of animated toys (Jazz!) One with super Rare items. And one with repaints and movie toys (mine )
and ofcourse a raffle. Hasbro had donated the motherload of toys for the raffle. Botcon Exclusives, Collector's club exclusives, Target Exclusives, stuff that will never be sold in the Netherlands! I won a set of 4 allspark powered deluxes (Target exclusives) (HAPPY!)
I will be posting pics tonight, I have to sort them out and upload them first.
I had a blast! It was just a relief just to talk to people about transformers and discuss a couple of things about the cartoons. All the different people, all kinds of ages and everybody seemed to be enjoying it. I don't ever post anything on a transformer board (though I practically read everything), but I would like to thank Raymond and the whole staff of B.O.T.S. for all the time and effort they put into it. I never win anything ever, but this time I even snatched a price. So all I have to say, Till next year!
BOTS was very nice indeed! Glad to see some 'old school' co-collectors again and talked briefly to mr spacebridge from the boards here. It was fun!!!!
Though almost all of the photo's are from before the doors actually opened you get a general feeling of what was available and what was on display.
Towers of Fame
And ofcourse the BOTS team
We were at BOTS, too (the German ones mentioned earlier) and enjoyed it a lot. You can find some more pictures of the event here:
(The report is in German only, but it's got pictures!)
aaaaa pics of me! XD
i was at the ntf stand too. i´m originally from belgium, so i had to translate for the guys (but they handled most with their english)
got ani bumblebee, so the way from cologne was worth it XD
next time i´ll be there again..... this time with more money XD
B.O.T.S. 2008 was amazing and it was my first Transformers convention as one of the organizers. Although it was hard work and I was all out of energon afterwords... this was an experiance never to forget.
Last year I was simply a visitor, cause I couldn't go to the BOTCON. Though still I hope that one day I can visit that convention as well.
This B.O.T.S. was Ginormous... as Jazz would say.
It was absolutely great, the best convention till now. Pity there were no art or kitbash contests, though. Still, my compliments to all of the Bots crew!
there was an art and kitbash contest announced on the website! Though nobody cared to sign up for it. So in the end the scrapped both contests.
I had my movie repaints (and retools) on display, but no contest
Yeah. I was already making plans for my entry when I saw that it wasn't going through.
BTW, what was up with that one Animated Voyager Prime that no-one knew who it belonged to?
Haha, it was mine! I took it with me to sell it and my father put it on the table next to the TV there.
XD Found it sitting on a couch, too. You should have been more carefull with it, someone could have easily swiped it.
Wow, this looks awesome. I need another excuse to go back to the Netherlands... Is this an annual event?
I am actually quite impressed with the size of it. Never thought mainland Europe were so into the TF hobby as well!
Good read, explained some details about the B.O.T.S. organization. Glad to hear you didn't get totally slammed by the rain and storms...
And yes, minibars are equally evil and expensive wherever in the world you are..especially at TF Conventions
Ayup, though it had a different name last year.
man there was some nice stuff on the pics and I hope a few of the sellers comes to AA.
Separate names with a comma.
