Does anyone know what exactly is the backstory behind breakdown and bulky (what caused their rivalry), or has there been no mention of that so far?

Both appear to have a background in construction (which, by the way, would make for a kickass introduction to the Constructicons: have them be old friends of BD), so perhaps Megatron tried to recruit from the lower castes. Bulkhead didn't but what Megs was selling, but Breakdown did.

Or he could be an ex-wrecker turned bad, i dunno.

some speculation was that it had something to do with the wreckers..like Breakdown could have/almost was part of them or something. but for now.. big guy vs big guy

I really hope it has something to do with the Wreckers; my favorite faction would get some time on a show! :lol

They were in the same caste as construction workers, became good friends, war started, Breakdown did something bad and joined the Decepticons, Bulkhead joined the Wreckers.

My guess for what the jist of it is going to be.

As long as it doesn't contradict War for Cybertron.

Yes, I'm a firm believer that Prime and War for Cybertron are part of an aligned continuity not a continuity family.

I too hope their backstory is explored, and it somehow involves Bulkhead's being a former Wrecker.

I like this, but instead make it that they had different views. Bulkhead was in favor of what Optimus stood for while Breakdown was in favor of Megatron stood for. Kind of like the way soldiers chose sides during the civil war here in the US

War for Cybertron is in its own continuity. I gave myself headaches trying to shoehorn Prime and the books into that continuity.

Funny, I was just trying to find a thread, which would be more or less appropriate to my question, that was the same as yours, and here I saw this topic.
But I suggested seing a better unswer, coming from any previous comics or shows.

They're actually the reincarnations of Beavis & Butthead, and the "horrible things" that Breakdown did in the past have to do with destroying the few chances they had to score

I like the idea that Bulkhead used to bully Breakdown the wimpy stunticon in robot kindergarten and Megatron promised Breakdown he can get revenge on Bulkhead and beef him up in exchange for his loyalty.
