I think the new United Axalon looks really cool but honestly I don't know anything about him. Does he fit in with a classics shelf of the main cast or is he from a different era and/or cast of characters?

i think he fits fine with the classics line. but he would be more of like a "comic" character.

some people have dark mount but don't know about him much since he was in the comics but he still goes into classics.

Well it was a spaceship in beast wars and never had a bot mode... so put him where ever you like as the toy makes little sense but is still very nice.

Funny thing is that alt mode is based on the Nemesis.

And color-wise, I still get a "universe Depth charge" vibe from him

He goes into the group of transformers that should've been female. See I mean in my mind, he's simply a robot built by Rattrap to personify their ship. Andromeda & Star Trek had this right, so why shouldn't Beast Wars?

Strangely, I can kind of see this.

Except I could see it better with the Darksyde, based on the ship's computer voice.

As for the OP, Axalon goes wherever you feel he fits best.

My Axalon is on my classics shelf. Then again, everything "Universe" from 2008 or later is as well.

He also seems like perfect repaint/custom fodder because he's got a lot of cool parts, but nothing that would immediately get you thinking that its only a certain character.

Or it's the bot that the Axalon was named in honour of.

That probably makes more sense, especially if she was a female Autobot too.

Then why on Earth would you feel the need to respond to the thread? Just negativity for negativity's sake?

Anyway, the most logical place for Axalon is with Beast Wars figures, though obviously the scale is off. But try this on for size: the Beast Wars characters are physically much smaller than vehicular Transformers (because they're, well, animal-sized). So if a ship scaled to them had a robot mode, it might not be much bigger than your average medium-sized G1 Transformer (say, Astrotrain).

And since they are in the far-flung future of the timeline, it could be that their ship actually IS a dormant G1-era Transformer (not unlike Animated Omega Supreme). So maybe Axalon is that ship as a younger bot, a contemporary of G1 characters whose transformation ability is lost or forgotten much later when he is used as simply a transport ship by the smaller organic Beastformers.

Or, if his design bothers you (i.e. the fact that he looks more like the Nemesis, and not much like the original Axalon) or if you just don't like fannish revisionist history, you could say that the Beast Wars crew's Axalon was just named after this guy, or was maybe another ship in a series of Axalons (like how the Trek universe has multiple Enterprises).

Anyhow, I like the idea of Axalon being a contemporary of the G1/G2-era bots who later on down the road either literally becomes the Maximal ship or at least leaves enough of a legacy that the Maximal ship is named for him. So I've got him alongside my movie-era-G1 Classics, like Rodimus and Cyclonus. His spacefaring mode seems to work better alongside them than it does with more realistic Earth vehicle like the early/mid-G1's.
