To ya gamers out there what're those moments in video games that you can are the most amazed with, struck in awe about, or maybe just a moment you will always recall in that particular video game. Think about it too, it doesnt have to be super complex either. One of mine was the first chain saw kill in Gears of War, I laughed so minachially and had such a huge satisfaction with it.

Other moments for me are *FOR THE LOVE OF GOD (Primus to some) dont forget the spoiler warning!*

    *SPOILER!!!*
Advent Rising: Our hero being human and nothing special is in an alien temple that he's never been talking to an alien warrior that he didnt get to really know. In front of him is a majestic status of a featureless human floating and having light from the heavens shine down on him. The hero knows that humans did not have first contact with aliens until a few days ago is completely baffeled that there is a statue of a human. Our hero says words like "But what? How could? Huh?" and the alien warrior says "It is not easy... being god." Then our hero is suddenly lifted, glowing gold and ascending, thus proving more that he is defently some kind of god.

    *SPOILER!!!*
Deus Ex: Our hero merging with a super computer that has access to worlds information becoming basically an artifical god. The hero's eyes glow with energy and says "Now is the time to wake up, for tommorow is a new day."

Honest, Im not religious but those where really amazing moments.

Gears of War: 1st chain saw kill.

Freespace 1: Learning at how smart the enemy AI is by actually seeing the enemy reacting to primary threats. Enemy heavy fighter was shooting at a ship I had to escort. I had some weak heat seeking missiles in the vain hope that it might to some damage to the heavy fighter. I fired the heat seeking missile thinking it would do nothing but the enemy heavy broke away from his attack to avoid the missile and thus halt it's assault on the ship I had to escort temporary.

C'mon, you guys got some. Lets hear it!

The first Tomb Raider; the pull-out when you first end up on top of the Sphinx. Holy shit, that was awesome.

Transformers for the PS2 immediately comes to mind. Might be others...

*Spoilers* (But everyone should already know this)

Attempting to sabotage Tidal Wave, only to have him transform into a towering titan. Sounds underwhelming here, but you just had to be there, playing it for the first time. Armada Prime was like, half the height of his nose...

Virtua Fighter 2 on Saturn, if you used a save memory cart it would create a database of your play style. It was the first time a fighting game adapted to my style of play, and it knocked my socks off.

Tomb Raider is full of awe moments, the already mentioned sphinx, but even the second level when she takes her first swim through the underground tunnels was amazing.

Wip3out on PS, it was one of the first games I'd seen on a TV to use a higher resolution, and the first time I shot off that wave missle blew me away... I honestly thought at the time we didn't need PS2/DC with games like that.

I have plenty more, (mostly on Saturn now that I think about it) but these three will do for now.

When I first turned on my PS2, and it knew the time. Some reason that really suprised me. Then watching the intro for Armored Core 2, blew my brain away again.

Shadow of the Colossus- The entire game is an "awe" filled trip. From every boss battle to just exploring is an experience you'll never forget. Nice little touches like lizards, edible fruit on trees, fish and eels in lakes, turtles, and birds in the sky. It's a thing of beauty. The first boss battle I was like "holy shit...I have to climb THAT thing?!?!" and then it just gets even more insane.

Ico- The sequel (but released before SotC) to Shadow of the Colossus. The game's puzzels and the design of the enviorment are enough to get caught up in so much, that sometimes I forgot to watch over the girl Yorda and she got captured by the Shadow monsters!

Burnout Revenge- Seeing it for the first time (heck even now when I replay it) and being amazed at just how good this game looks for a Ps2 title! If the car damage, absolutely insane speeds, intro movies, music, and graphics alone aren't enough then just wait till you see the crashes! Increase your car's boost meter for a more enjoyable and ridiculously intense experience.

Onimusha 3- the opening cinematic was well worth the purchase.

Mercenaries- being able to launch a jeep from one end of the map to the other. Blowing up buildings is also incredibly fun! Portable Airstrike!!!!!

Metal Gear Solid 2- pretty much the entire game. nuff said.

Transformers- beautiful cinematics. I bought the game just for the Tidal Wave level (totally rocks!). Finally having a Transformers game! Running around transforming back and forth. Massive levels with plenty of details. And yes, Prime is as small to Tidal Wave as they say he is.

I can't say about Okami or both God of Wars because I haven't played them fully yet.

Sonic Adventure (DC)- Just having Sonic & Co. zoom through the levels at insane speeds is an awe filled experience.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (DC)- The character designs (especially the bosses) are cool looking. The puzzels are engaging and cleverly done.

Super Mario 64- realizing for the first time, that I can actually beat a Mario game.

The first time I played Super Mario 64. Just messing around the castle was a joy. Truely an experience and what convinced me to get a N64 instead of Playstation.

In Burnout 3, I rammed an opposing car into a guardrail, the car FLIPS over and I run underneath it, inches from being crushed

In multiplayer Halo, I nailed another with a rocket in MID AIR. And it was a perpendicular shot (in that he was jumping in front of me and I placed a rocket right in front of him)

One time in Burnout Revenge, I was driving so fast for so long that my car actually flipped up off of the road and into the air and then somersaulted! It's only happened once though which is good since I lost the race because of that.

Super Mario 64: fighting bowser! being able to just swing him around like a rag doll where as before all u could do was jump on his head.

Zelda: OoT: when link grows up and u finally get to play as adult link for the first time. i remember thinking, "shut up old man, i don't care about the plot. i just wanna play!"

Chrono Trigger: convincing Magus to join your team.

    Chrono Cross: *SPOILER*

when you find out that Kid is actualy Lucca's child. i just about hit the floor with that one.

    Final Fantasy 7: *SPOILER*

unleashing Omnislash on Sephiroth. and defeating Emerald Weapon and getting a full set of ALL Materia

    Oh yeah, here's another one.

    God of War 2:

    *Spoilers*

A human sized Kratos completely throws the Colossus off his feet with his bare hands (quite a distance too). I was all like "WTF?!?"

Listening to the final bits of I Love Bees, especially when it cuts into the invasion of Earth. Brilliant setup for a kind of lackluster punchline in Halo 2.

    My moments?

*Kicking the utter crap out of the Metroid Prime and with 100% completion rate to get the Dark Samus ending.

*My frist look past the Dark Portal in WoW. Damn that battle looks fun

*Discovering that Serge's world is the ALTERNATE reality in Chrono Cross and learning that most if not all of the core characters from Chrono Trigger were dead or missing (save for Magnus.... he's a choice for a character).

Actually Kid is a clone of Shalla. She created Kid to be the key to saving herself and the world from Lavos' Spawn that was bonding to her. Shalla then sent the baby to Kid for safe keeping, but not fully knowing that Lucca's fate was already sealed by the Dragons.

Gotta get in on this one, only because of all the Chrono love in this forum as of late.

    Chrono Trigger:

    SPOILER

When YOU/CRONO dies, and yet the game continues! You can even beat the game with out bringing yourself back!

I can't really think of anything specific. :(  However, the Legacy of Kain series as a whole left a lot of awe for me, I would say.

Yeh that was one of the best scenes for a mecha game ever.
