Slutty is a funny thing. It's usually called upon by people insecure about a girls sexuality. That she actually is open about it, embraces it..Then she's slutty. I won't go into the cliched bit of guys vs. girls etc, but..Because a girl looks good, keeps in shape, and can wear clothing that reflects that, doesn't make her slutty..Kinda. Paris, is saddly some girls idol, what they aspire to be..And all she does is find less than creative ways to expose herself...That's slutty. Britney wearing whatever outfit on stage doing a show, that's another thing..Until she pulled the Paris move. I don't really see where Avril would fit into any of that actually.

 

I have said it before and I will say it again. Her rendition of Fuel made baby Jebus cry.

On a personal note James Hetfield is one of my heroes. And one of the many reasons my son's middle name is James.

I think some of her stuff is alright and (making myself a target here) a couple of her tracks are standout. And she's (IMO) hot and that helps. And Ska8er Boi was like a billion years ago, when she was 12 or something, let it go already!

I think the thing that sets Avril apart from Paris and the rest is that she is not relying on her sexuality to sell albums. I think a lot a girls somehow get the message that to be cool and successful you need to be this overly sexual person and honestly it makes me nervous as a parent of a little girl...

Has any one seen the new Barbie my scene dolls? If girls are to have strong female role models, how are they supposed to find them???

 

I saw her on SNL last weekend and I thought she was pretty good. She can sing, she dances cute and her lyrics are aimed at girls in the late teen/early twenties....what else is there to say really, she is a 22 years old performer who is sadly in the same industry with Ashlee Simpson and Paris Hilton. At least she is a real performer.

I am not going to dog any young boys and girls who like Avril. When I was that age I thought Blink-182 was fun to listen to.

In the current world that we live in it's got to be hard. With most TV shows out there you find many sexual innuendos that can really influence a young girl and a lot of them are on networks that primarily are for children and teens.

For example on MTV they have awful reality shows like The Hills and Laguna beach. The girls AND guys on that show are awful influences since the...I guess we could call actors are the same age as the target audience.
