You didn't read far back enough. He said more than once that Alternators ARE voyagers. Also, it's not the first time he's brought up this scale debate.

it was all about size scale comparisions. not price,not assortment labels on the packages or big brown assortment boxes.

examples: when TF fans ask how big MP Starscream is?
the answer would be: he's the current size of a $27 Ultra sized TF toy.

Examples: when a TF fan ask how big ROTF $29.99 HA toys are.
the answer would be: their the size of the alternators & current voyager sized TF toys.

Examples: When some ask how big is Aveo swerve.
answer: he's a similar toy size to most deluxe sized transformers released within a 3 year period.

 

You often say things that completely contradict each other. For instance, if it's not about price, then why do you bring it up? If you're talking about comparisons, then why are you talking about absolutes? It just makes all of the discussions very confusing.

Anyway, back on topic. I don't think they can reuse this mold. Doesn't Chevrolet own it?

 

Yep. According to the Wiki, Chevy owns the mold. Hasbro and Takara would have to ask permission from them to use it - maybe even pay a licensing fee on top of the usual royalties they'd have to spend for using an actual car design.

They probably could make a new mold that resembles Aveo Swerve, with all the requisite derivative changes so they don't get sued. But they probably wouldn't do that, since they seem to have a good relationship with Chevrolet.

 

I wonder how far ownership of a mold extends. Does that include all of the transforming engineering? From what I've seen he is a very simple figure to transform, but also has a couple of unique transformation steps.

in answer to your question wollstone, no. people that have the g3 trailer don't sell the weapons, just get the trailer and be done with it, it's on sale

 

I have no use for the trailer it's self. So those would end up being some expensive guns.

 

My Aveo Swerve is sitting in a box somewhere.

 

Classics for mine. love that little guy, though im always affraid of breakin him, cause getting a replacement would be disasterous

 

I haven't found an adequate weapon yet. I've settled for imagining that he fires laser blasts from his eyes.
