While the news of downloading old XBox game is sweet, I can see my 20GB HD filling up fast (in fact I think I have 5GB left) which might make me have to fork out for the vastly overpriced 120GB version, but I would also prefer a backwards compatible update to be released allowing me to play those final games that I can't.

Not sure about the video on demand service either. Can't really see myself using it.

Still, good news that it's finally been dated, now to wait for the other additions it includes.

I don't see the point. the Xbox games that are listed there are cheaper to find used (and complete) and will play fine on the 360.

That’s what I was just thinking. The cost and hard drive space don’t make it sound worth it to me. The only thing that would win me over is if achievements where added to the games but even then I don’t know.

Virtual games = I've already got 'em all but one.
Video on demand = I don't use on my sat. tv, won't use on the xbox.

Anything else gonna be in it?

I thought pretty much all the games worth playing were already on the list.

if they released halo1 with online play it might be worth it, it still stands the test of time gameplay wise. there were also some badass multiplayer levels.

I am not impressed and I agree with Gnaw, they should update there backwards compabilty list.

Personly I am on my 4th 360, thanks to EBs warrenty I have been able to swap them instead of waiting for a slow microshaft to do the work. Unless things change the PS3 will win this round from the 360.

Unless this update changes it, the videos do not automatically delete from your hard drive. Also, there is no news of DIVX support? I thought MS was going to announce that soon seeing as the DIVX guys just spilled the beans.

Rather they sit there in an unwatchable state with a message that the license has expired and you have to delete them yourself.

There are still a few titles that could join the backcomp list. King of Fighters: Maximum Impact is one.

I'm not sure where your line of thinking is on that? Would the PS3 win because Microsoft's fall update is lackluster, or would they win because of the 360's hardware troubles?

I'm still waiting for MechAssult to be BC.
It was one of the first Live games so it's surprising that it seem to have been so easily forgotten.

Jet Set Radio Future isn't :(

Well, it is, but the two-pack with Sega GT 2002 seems to not function properly.

There isn't enough room in my HD to fit demos, much less full (possibly 4gig) games. It's a cool feature, but my HD is too small.

No original MechAssault or Capcom vs. SNK2EO. Boo!

Some of hte games going to the service go for more used than they're going to charge - Halo 1 and Halo 2, Psychonauts...a handful of others are >$15 used at my local GameStop.

All would be forgiven if they decided to release Metal Wolf Chaos on it. And the BC is still woefully incomplete when it comes to the hidden gem titles.

Microsoft has had some really forward thinking implementations of the hard drive that are rendered nearly useless when you consider the size of the hard drive.

I occasionally use the video download feature and I always have to do some kind of memory management before I DL a movie.

And the price of the larger size drive is stupid nuts.
I would actually pay to upgrade my drive if I did not feel like I was spending 400% more than I should for the larger drive.

The Norton Ghost is optional except for game saves - you can always download arcade games and videos again, it's just the saves that have the issue that need ghosted.
