I remember seeing in season 1 and 2 that Autobots weren't good at flying, only Cosmos, Powerglide, the Dinobots, Skyfire and Omega Supreme could fly that was until the Arialbots came in during the of of season 2. But how did they manage to become pros at flying in season 3?

 

Newer characters could fly. I still remember a bunch of Autobots still not being able to fly.

 

Less atmosphere to get in the way.  

 

Re-watch the first 3 episodes.

The Autobots flew pretty well.
