    Hi!
Since in 2011 there is almost no time, I´ve NOW started another repaint:
    Autobot Tailgate.
He was a Nitro Bumblebee, but since there are too many BB´s in my apartment...
    Hope you like this one...

Very nice paint job. Are you gonna do flat black for the Carbon fiber?

    THX for the comments.
1.) the boosters will be reworked.
    2) Blue wheels cos I was unconcentrated.
    3) the carbon will be flat blue.
4= no alt mode now, the botmode is all in black.
    More pics ASAP:drool:

damn I cant be leave a head swap and light armor makes this mold pretty damn rugged. the shiny paint is a nice contrast to his now tougher profile in robot mode.

i think the same blue and grey as details/highlights on the black would look great.

my fav use of the mold since that police car repiant from like 2 years ago.

Geeze I hate to be the turd here but to me this doesnt look like anything was really done except spraying it down with metallic blue and giving it some silver trim- then later, the head swap and maybe some black on the limbs.
I mean... blue tires and rims because you just weren't concentrating?
In bot mode I can see the original BB yellow showing here and there and spray overage spots all over.
I'm confused to see something with little effort put in thus far get nothing but really positive compliments.
A WIP thread for a deluxe repaint with head swap... Isn't that like, a 4 to 5 hour job max?
An honest critique is important to helping artists improve. Not "Oohs" and "ahhs" for so little effort. Just my 2 cents though.
I'd like to see more completed projects posted, WIPs that make more sense, and more honest critiques. And a billion dollars.

I agree with the honest critiquing. But he didn't say this was the finished product. It's a WIP. Outside of the needing work bumper/boosters/trim, overall it is a nice, shiny metallic blue (great color choice btw) nice looking custom. I think the positive comments are from how it looks so far and in an opinion regarding looks/quality, how long it took to do it shouldn't factor into that, only for critiquing in and of itself. "You only took what, 5 hours to make this, I'm guessing? If you had spent a little more time on this fine-tuning it, it'd be great." That sort of thing.

You misread or misunderstood what I wrote.
I said I don't understand posting a WIP (I acknowledged it was an incomplete WIP) for a deluxe head swap repaint that would normally only take about 4 to 5 hours of work, not counting dry times. So far this looks like 30 minutes of effort.
I certainly DO understand WIPs on big projects that will take weeks or months, but not something like this so much.
It started with literally nothing but a blue spray painted car, wheels and everything, with a bit of silver lining. I don't get how that gets lots of praise.
It would be much cooler to see a finished product with things like this, but if someone is going to post a WIP for a deluxe repaint, I'd expect at least SOME honest critique beyond how great that blue spray paint is.

No, I hear you. I just thought if it was deemed finished, more people might have critiqued it more than just giving praise.

    Don´t bother.
He maybe had a bad day. I often repaint figures and then sand down the color cos I change my mind... If he has more time than me, that´s okay with me.

It´s from a Megatron. The eyes still need color, the head a little re-sculpting etc.

Well, my time´s very limited right now. There will be more colors, more detailing an such. It´s easy to take a can and spray all over the figure, but detailed painting takes time. I am someone who has a job that has nothing to do with toys. Maybe some guys earn money w/this but not me.

    To all:
Guys, be polite. Til all are one...

This is my problem as well. I have quite a few WIPs but trying to find the time to finish them is rugged and I'm too anal/perfectionist to do a rush job and not do it to the best of my ability.
