I just Watched the episode More Than Meets The Eye and I can name afew Autobots that were introduced in the first episode that are not in the movie.

    -Hauler
    -Sunstreaker
    -Wheeljack
    -Hound
    -Prowl
    -Trailbreaker
    -Cliffjumper
    -Mirage

It would make sence that they would do the very first Autobots. They've just got to make them in the movie. You think so? Or is there one or two I'm missing?

    Alright, I'll respond

No it wouldn't. The moviemakers pick Autobots who were major players in the original cartoon or ones who they felt would work for the plot of the film, if they don't just create new characters to fit those roles like the Twins and Jolt. It makes no sense at all for them to just do every Transformer in their chronological order of introduction as if they were checking them off on a list.

No. That's ridiculous. We do not need to see a character with two fictional appearances, both due to errors in the movies anytime soon. Some of those characters you listed would work in the movieverse, but only because they're well-remembered fan-favorites, not because they got dibs by being in episode 1.

The Transformers live action movies are based on 25 years of Transformers history and borrow ideas and concepts from many eras. They're not an unfiltered translation of season 1 of the 1984 cartoon.

if the movie is meant to be a straightforward remake of g1, then fair enough, you have a point.

however, it isn't, so you don't.

It's like a version of that t-shirt, but changed to:

'My friend went on a messageboard and all he emailed to me was this stupid thread'

    Nah - only kidding. :)

Aaaanyway, so yeah, this movie franchise will pull characters and names from the entire twenty-five year history of Transformers, so there's no rule that certain TF from a particluar series should appear, just as there's no rule a TF from any other series shouldn't appear.

I don't know what the OP is really trying to get at, but Skids is a G1 character. Just not in this context. I personally feel that the movie-verse is the best iteration of Transformers since G1.
