Following in the like-minded footsteps of wwoptimusprime and Cycrolus, i'm doing the Autobot Clones out of two copies of PCC Leadfoot.

In my toy universe, PCC is just another gimmick, so I throw them in with my CHUG bots.

i like how each of us is doing the same idea, yet each will turn out a bit different.

for mine, i took the wings off ROTF Sunspot, leaving just enough to not cripple Sunspot, who you'll see soon. I modded the axes so that the peg sits closer to the wing. I chose these wings because of the peg - there's matching holes on either side of Leadfoot's shoulders.

I'm going to put a turbine on the rear wheels. The front wheel assembly has been removed. And i've replaced the big head with one of the Energon combiner jet heads - the one with the visor. (Same one wwoptimusprime is using). enjoy these pics. The bot mode has a wing missing, it was still drying when I took the pics. You'll see the end result eventually anyway :)

    Wow, looks great!

I really like the way the yellow on the wings goes with the orange on the body. I'd keep it that way if you can... much more interesting than going with original G1 colours. ;)

Neat concept. Is the plane going to be a parts-former?

currently, the wings flip from being on the front of the shoulder to the back, so it partsforms like G1 Seekers do. I'm trying to find a way to prevent that from happening.

so i experimented, and came up with this. One way has the shoulder in line the way it was intended. One way has it reversed, with the balljoint showing. if i go with the balljoint showing, then the wing is attached to the back of the shoulder, and requires no partsforming. i really like the other way though, it looks more streamlined.

Another option is to cut the last horizontal bit off the shoulder, so that the arm can swing all the way through - this would let me fully flip the shoulder without flipping the arm.

got a little done today. The fins need some sanding, but soon they'll look like one solid piece. Kudos to Donnie Tsunami and.... dammit i suck, someone else just did a layered piece. Thanks guys for the inspiration.

Here's one of the wings, getting filled in. i used some styrene panels and a styrene rod. The rod was cut to fit into a groove on the wing that is usually filled in by another part on the original Sunspot figure.

Hmmm... maybe you can glue some styrene panels against the cockpit to cover that large gap. Maybe you can also look into adding in some kind of flip-up joint so that said part rests against the cockpit or something like that?

yeah i was trying to get over to the cockpit.. i cut too large, then too small. it'd need the layers the rest are showing. I'll figure out something.

Well if I were you, I'd just use the ones you cut that are to big, line out just how much needs to be removed (with a pencil) and then just cut it off, it beats taking bets on how much to remove and makes the changes of the flaps being too long or too short a lot smaller

Thank you good sir. I owe you a phone call!

some update action. I also just noticed that there are circular details on the underside of the wing that i can paint up to match Fastlane's tires. Score!!

gettin' there... Waiting on a new head. Left the old ones up because... well whatever. :)  no point in showing one without the other! still brainstorming about Cloudraker's forearms. I may see if i can convert those wheels into turbines.

    as you wish :)

needs some cleanup, landing gear, and VTOL fans where the rear wheels used to be. Then the paintjob. Check it out!
