We've all talked about Decepticon army building (Sweeps, Movie droids, Dreads, Vehicons, etc.)

But any suggestions for Autobot army building? Are there any known generic Autobots to make them into an army of replicas like the Decepticons with the exception of Junkions?

I just build my Autobot army by buying lots of diffrent Autobots. I never liked the idea of Autobots having an army of replicas because Transformers isn't a clone war. Cloning is more of a bad guy thing. There are more Autobots than Decepticons in lines such as Animated and Cybertron anyway.

I'd really love it if we would get a Classics Autotrooper. If we couldn't get a new mold, I'd be fine with giving RTS Jazz a new head and a light bar, and replacing his speakers with guns. For some reason, I also think that Generations Warpath would be a good mold to use as a base for a generic Autobot soldier. Not sure what color it should be, though. I would say red, but it needs to be different from Warpath.

I just get repaints and use them as new characters instead of buying the same toy multiple times.

If only there were Classics Autotroopers. Junkions are enough for me to troopbuild though. They're more fun too because of Maiden japan's kits.

Depends on what you collect I suppose. I've army built junkions (classics) and omnicons (energon) although not technically autobots they did come in autobot packaging.

For Autobot flyers, a bunch of those X-Gunners or R-Blades (RobotMasters) would work. To get around the high price point of the figs, go for the bootlegs and fix 'em up a bit.

For the infantry, a bunch of fixed up bootlegs of Strongarm (Energon) will do.

Protoform Optimus Prime (TF2007), if it weren't so pricey, can also work. Again, if there are bootlegs of it out there, much much better.

I apologize if I keep on suggesting bootlegs. I'm just trying to make sure that army building is affordable. :)

I also have G1 Mini-bot troops, I'll take some pics as soon as possible.

When they come out, I wanna get a bunch of those jet drones from TP. I have no idea what their proper names are. hopefully the figures will be very similar to there CGI design.

    W-Why?

Autobots don't really need troop-builders because they tend to get a lot more figures.

It's certainly easy enough to do, even now...long after the movie is over.

For the most part, I agree with most of the guys here: Autobots don't need troop builders since their figures usually outnumber Decepticons anyway. That said, Classics style Autotroopers would be nice. I would really be amused if at some future Botcon, they retool the RID Vehicon mold and release it as a multi-pack souvenir Autotroopers, much like the Animated ones. :D

The upcoming Kreon Autotroopers are pretty much made for army building.

Well after that one manga, you totally could make a prime army!

Though those primes were kinda huge and had like visor things, but still prime army!
