For some time there has been ongoing talk about the violence in games - don't worry this isn't about 'influencing serial killers through games and stuff' - its about the ratings.
Here in Oz we have game ratings that only go up to MA15+ (the red label). Now, they spend all this money making labels that are more striking and legible, etc, but forget that what they should have done is introduced an R18+ rating for games.
They rate games like GTA or Manhunt and heaps of others as MA15+ when they are clearly R content games (and rated as such overseas), but because they have no R rating, they go for the highest rating possible, just MA15+. Then they complain the games are too violent or have adult content not suitable for 15+ and ban them. Does that make any sense? Your thoughts?
