Ok, so I'm an Australian and all the Australians I know get angry at the rest of the world for thinking that we're all like Steve Irwin.

Except my English friend says that it's not like that at all.

And I just wanna know...what does everyone think of Australia?

I've never thought that ALL of Australia is Steve Irwin. I've always wanted to go but don't think I could handle the 14 hour, or whatever it is, flight.

I love Australia. i just went to gold coast recently for a holiday. had a great time down there & also since i dig plus sized/BBW women, there seems to be an abundance of them in downunder :D .

In fact i'm thinking of migrating there in the immediate future...

I know I'm an American, and as such, expected to have horribly distorted stereotypical views of everyone else on the planet, but I just figured Australians were like Australians. And that's sorta as far as I ever got.

And I'm going there for my graduation gift. Gonna hit the parents up with a guilt trip for not paying for any of my school, but if that doesn't work, there's always AMEX.

I'm hoping to spend at least a few days doing some intense camping out in y'all's desert, a few days scuba diving out at y'all's reef, and a few days just relaxing in one of the bigger cities. Then I'm planning on taking a cruise from Australia to New Zealand to Tasmania and studying for my boards.

    It'll be righteous.

This now proves to me that all Australians care about global warming and using environmentally sustainable transport alternatives.

I think it would make one hell of a prison colony... I mean, it's perfect! So alone and isolated from the rest of the world... I'm shocked no one has thought of this before...

    Oh... right...

All I know is, there's a lotta hot chicks from Australia.

That, and that it's still a British Commonwealth.

I used to study in Australia a decade ago. While I found most Aussies friendly, I tend to agree that pace of life is kind of slow but man, I miss Melbourne! :(

Basically this. We're kind of like a Knock-Off USA. I think we're about to be banned from eBay. Seriously though, we try so hard to be like America. I'm not sure why.

Shit I’d rather live in Australia, I went there to visit my girlfriend in Sydney a few months after she moved out there Back in 2001 it’s a clean Los Angeles. And every guy/gal was friendly as could be. I had a lot more fun there than I do here. I don’t understand the government there but that’s okay I am not one for politics anyway.

+ Melbourne is home to some of the most amazing stencil graffiti artists I’ve ever seen. I know that may not appeal to anyone who doesn’t already know about it….but its true.

As an Australian who's made the occasional flight in and out of North America, I'd say Australia is basically Canada but with heat instead of cold, smaller cars, and driving on the other side of the road.

Oh, and the wildlife is smaller but more likely to kill you.

I always thought it was more like Neighbours. :D

Seriously though, I'll get to find out next year when I go over for a few weeks.
