We've just had our annual fan vote (after three years absence), renamed 'The Ozformers Awards'. It's nothing too fancy, but an opportunity for the local fans here in the Australian part of the world to have their say on last year's best bits, in the style of the Trannies from way back.

Under the category 'Best non-AUS/NZ Transformers News/Info/Reference/Resource website or forum', TFW2005 looks to be the prefered choice of Australian fans.

It may not seem like a significant thing from our much smaller community, but I wanted to share this with you guys, as yet another achievment of this fansite.

Full results of the fan vote can be found here:

This should be like the Golden Globes to the BotCon Awards...a preview of things to come.

It really is, though. No offense to the other sites, but their forums don't even look or feel like forums, and the sites themselves lack the overall "tightness" and neat presentation of TFW2005.

Because they're probably insecure manly men.

Ozformers should not be taken as representative of Australian Transformers fans as a whole, just the same as no singular US Transformers board represents American TF fans as a whole. So if the membership of Ozformers hates Animated, it is their loss entirely.

That is true. We are just one of three major transfan communities in Australia. And even though we're the longest running and the largest down here, it doesn't give us the right to claim we are the only Australian fan community, so the awards were named after our community, not our country. The topic title of my posting used 'Aussie' for familiarity of the members here, it was not intended to mislead.

As for the Animated vote - I actually thought our members were growing to like it. I guess too many people voted early, before much was seen of it. Remember, we don't have easy access to it down here yet - only a small number of us have seen the cartoon from unauthorised pirated sources.

Yeah, I didn't mean you were claiming to be representative or something, just that our foriegn friends tend to see us all as one 'type'. You know, crocodile hunting road warriors, throwing boomerangs into the sky in a Michael Bay-directed spoof commercial.

    He used seven helicopters.
