It's a bootleg. ADV has never made a compliation set. The fact that there is no ADV logo and the cheap price should be a dead giveaway.

Checking Amazon, single volumes of the entire show have been released. Maybe you'd be best off going for those?

I want to know how a site gets away with selling bootlegs of licensed animes?

The licenses are regional. ADV simply owns the license to distribute the anime in North America. A company in Hong Kong can own the license for Hong Kong and if they want to sell their product on the Internet, who's going to stop them? It's legally theirs to do what they want with.

...or not. A lot of HK DVD producers do not have licenses for the DVDs they sell, which is why they can often afford to sell them at ridiculously low prices. While that's still technically illegal even in Hong Kong, it's not enforced as draconically as it is here.

And the worse part about bootlegs is that most of the time, the english subs are terrible!

Well that just proves you get what you pay for, and with really popular shows like Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto buying bootlegs with crappy engrish sub is beyond stupid as if you really want to see it on the cheep you could just download some fansubs for free that actualy are using proper english. As for that Aura Battler Dunbine set just buy the ADV version.

Occasionally. But frequently it's really bad. The more episodes they jam on each disc, the worse the quality gets. I've seen some decent video on HK bootlegs, some unwatchably bad video, but mostly just mediocre. I'd never go with HK bootlegs unless there was nothing else available, with no sign of that changing in the future.

Also keep in mind you never know where the profits are going, like organized crime.

A bootlegging group is organized crime by its very definition.

Yeah, I got to agree with you on that. In fact that's the reason why I buy originals as much as I can help it.
