Not much to report news-wise this issue-- except for the comic and character bios and "back page", the entire thing is a recap of Botcon.

The only thing of note news-wise that I can find is that Botcon 2011 will be taking over the ENTIRE convention center from 2009's BC, with more than double the space, so I think they're planning for it to be a big one.

Oh, and the two bios are Deathsaurus (repurposed from the 2005 set) and Metalhawk. Oh, and Metalhawk? Drawn by Derrick Wyatt. It's really interesting to see him try to "G1-ize" his drawing style. Jet mode still looks very Animated-ish, though.

Do they show any new toy pics? Like what's been seen today that was shown at the Botcon panel?

I love my Botcon Deathsauras. He was Classics before Classics were Classics. :D

Ugh. I always hate the BotCon recap issues.

    Metalhawk profile sounds promising, though!

:lol  True. My appreciation for him has grown in the past couple years.

And I still like BC'05 Ironhide and Ratchet better than their TFU/Henkei versions.

Now if only Metalhawk would get a new body in the comic so we can... well... be saddened as the club won't provide a new toy. Someone needs to step up the game and get us more CHUG Japanese characters. Right now we've only got Deathy and Leozack.

I'm still waiting for Over-Run as a club exclusive...

Yeah with the exception of the clones, the 05 set really was a head of it's time.

    Classics
    Deathsaurus
    Ironhide
    Ratchet
    Outback
    Chormia/Moonracer

I have to agree that the E. towline mold makes a better classics update to Ratchet and Ironhide than the Univ 2.0 versions. Especially since it pays homage to the original toy as well as the look in the cartoon. Detachable crawler FTW!

    *minor spoiler*

Get ready to be saddened again, then. This month's comic shows that Blast Off will likely be getting a new design in the fiction soon, based off the Classics Astrotrain mold w/ a new head (he wanted a land-based mode).

I wouldn't be opposed to that. It's one of the few remolds that could kinda work for Astrotrain.

Though don't expect us to get that as a toy anytime soon, given we already know next year's TFCC exclusives.

Wow... so, what other CHUG figures have we been teased with by the club?

    Over-Run (Energon Bulkhead redeco)
    Hooligan (Energon Starscream redeco)
    Hellbat (Energon Starscream redeco)
    Gaihawk (Energon Starscream redeco)
    Blast Off (Astrotrain redeco)

There have been several Shattered Glass ones, and the one I'd want most out of them is SG Thunderwing out of CHUG Silverbolt. :D

To me Metalhawk looks similar to Energon Scout/Omnicon/Basic Skyblast.

Yep. See GMFan101's awesome custom for making that mold REALLY work as Metalhawk.

Since we're apparently not going to get any Animated love for BotCon sets, maybe Metalhawk will crop up there at some point.
